How true!!! No, they do not look cool though except I guess if you are fourteen or fifteen!

That is why I have taken to wearing my rashguard everywhere I go. Those stupid douches.[/quote]
Thread won!!!
not true, I have seen plenty of middle aged fat guys or guys who go to the gym who arn’t muscular wearing them lol either way it means they are more baddass
Rash guard, Absolutely!!!
Or more some like some thing else.
You would be the expert on wannabe action…
I wore my tapout shorts as my bathing suit the other day. It was that, basketball shorts, or boxers. Worked well though!
I was pretty safe from douchedom though, since it’s unknown in Taiwan. There’s already enough nonsensical clothing here. Then again I’m gonna be in Japan soon and there’s also a lot of nonsensical clothing there …
It is no surprise or secret that the Rashguard has a very high SPF, and is accepted attire at Water Parks and water Attractions. Can a Tap Out T prevent your cancer?
No, but it’s far less gay.
Tap-out, eh?
I sometimes wear judo t-shirts in public, I have one depicting harai-goshi (even if my favourite throw has been soto-makikomi as of late), so I wear it. I’ve also seen a great one on JF saying “EPIC hansoku-make!” with a morote-gari figure. I’d buy it if I didn’t just pay my university fees.
I’ve never had anyone question me on the matter. I choose to showcase what I love. To me, it’s no different than metalheads with Iron Maiden shirts. 'sides, I’m kinda short and scrawny. I’d look funny posing.
If you want to look less douche, then at least choose a less poseur brand. Tap-out is infamous for attracting lots of poseurs. There’s nothing wrong with MMA shirts per se (aside from being overpriced and ugly), but the connotations attributed to Tap-out would make me doubt anyone who wore such stuff imo.

thats awesome I never thought of it that way, wearing shirts of a particular style showcasing the moves and stuff seems a lot less poser ish
I was thinking about it today, I went into the local fight shop to get some new bag gloves and had the distinct feeling that out of the 8 or so people in there I was the only person that actually trained. It was shopping, just like at the gap for everyone else. It’s weird for sure. But I don’t think that most guys that wear a Bulls hat think they can play ball. I don’t think pro NFL player when I see someone wearing a NFL jersey…they are usually just fans. We have to get used to the fact that MMA is entertainment.
that is a very good point that I strongly agree with
I saw a guy wearing a brand-new looking tapout shirt…during a no-gi bjj class. Not a rashie, a cotton tee shirt. Hmm. $$$. Hmm.
I wonder what would happen if I wore a gi or thai shorts out.
Is it really that big of a deal that someone wears a particular brand name that is suggestive that they are a MMA fan? I don’t necessarily think it means that they are trying to be a badass, it just means that they are a fan (and may like the look of that particular article of clothing). I have plenty of friends who never trained but enjoy watching UFC/WEC.
I never played professional football but I thoroughly enjoy watching it on TV. I also own several T-shirts and ball caps with steeler logos. What is the difference.
My guess is that these people who are wearing Tapout gear can at least cary on a conversation with you about the sport of MMA.
Fixed.
Edit; I actually once had a heated discussion in a bar about why Fedor absolutely does not suck. The guy was wearing an Affliction shirt. I don’t even know what the fuck.
It is true that Tapout does not equate to UFC. However, I don’t think it is fair (or very mature) to label people who do not train as douchebags or posers. They are just fans. There is a difference in apparel and gear, and they are wearing apparel.
I’d love for someone to fuck with this middle aged fat guy for wearing a tap out shirt. Please.
Careful. I know kung fu.
I got you beat, I know Glock Fu.
