Pulling out of Afghanistan,

That’s a good article, well worth a read.

Here’s another, posted by a member on sociocide.

I’d heard of the “custom” but had no clue as to the extent it’s practiced. Why does the world not know
of this evil?

Ya think? Even a 50 cal feels like a punch in the face.

Correction to my above - that’s not the VLS warning line, that’s the safe radius where you can get smacked in the head if they are rotating the gun.

Ah. Now I get it.

I feel like we’re expecting civilization from people who are heavily armed, numerous, and not civilized.

You left out ignorant / uneducated and corrupt.

That’s what “not civilized” means.

This whole thing is a train wreck. Impossible to watch without a sense of horror.

There are plenty who’re educated yet uncivilized.

There is actually a documentary that I believe is called The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan. It’s been a while since I’ve watched it. It was obviously horrifying, but what was most shocking was allegedly boys were being kept in some cases in US controlled facilities and areas.

I don’t recall the full details, but there was an incident where two US servicemen assaulted (or just shoved depending on who you asked) an Afghan officer over the practice. I vividly recall a legislator angrily stating that he never thought it would have to be explicitly stated that children shouldn’t be raped in US controlled facilities.

Well, that’s enough for me today. I think I’m going to get drunk.

Biden’s pull out game is weak, is all I am saying.

Calling it weak is being kind. You softy you.

Biden’s game is pretty damned weak overall. But, he got to be President! WOOT!

It’s hard to believe and even to describe from a western point of view. There’s a custom colloquially called ‘man love’ Thursdays or ‘picnic’ Thursdays when men wish to have sex consensually, it’s illegal but accepted on the sly and conducted on a Thursday as Friday is their holy day (our Sunday) so they only have to wait a day until they can repent.

Abusing boys mostly happens here but can happen anywhere and is obviously hard for westerners to stomach. The hard part is, it’s so ingrained in the culture, coalition forces actually have to turn a blind eye to it. ‘Afghan problems, Afghan solutions’, was shorthand for staying out of things that could cause damage to already fragile agreements.

Less well known issues is getting kids hooked on heroin (it’s abundant due to the poppy trade) to keep them pliable and also to trade a child temporarily for an afternoon if you’d wish to barter for a discount on a car or house.

The Taliban want to rule under the system they believe to be the word of god

They will attract Uyghur people who want to train to free their people, just as they attracted Palestinians, Bosniacs, Kosova and Chetchens

Mark my words, before two long Islamist insurgents will start to wage a guerilla war on China’s western border

And you are naive to believe the Talibs are getting supplied by Russia and PRC

Neither country has anything to gain from having a nest of vipers in their backyard

Most of the Taliban’s vehicles and equipment is American, either left behind or captured from, first NATO, then Afghan government troops

I imagine they still have Soviet era gear as well

LOL. Sure, buddy. Just like every other government that claimed authority by divine right. Did you notice that the system they believe is according to the will of God also happens to include doing whatever the hell they want whenever the hell want regardless of whatever it says in the Koran?

Heroin. Guns. Sex slaves. Booze. Stealing for themselves in the name of G-O-D. Terror. Murder. Do they give a shit? Fuck no. Whatever they need at the time to get power and more .

They kill and rape innocent children and I know that stuff is at least outlawed by the Koran (unless female). They drink whenever they want. They steal whatever they want. They kill whoever they want. They rape, kidnap, traffic whoever they want. They can kidnap/buy/exchange a woman, have a cleric marry them to her for as long as they want so they can rape and enslave her until they get bored with an excuse and then sell/divorce/exchange her for another girl without any consent at all. Chattel.

Whatever Muhammad had to say about it isn’t very concerning, because it’s not about the letter of the law. It’s about creative interpretation according to the present desires and needs of the people who want power.

Jihad is a political device. It’s the same now as it ever was in every other religion. Compare notes between the self-described truly devout Muslims and despite the plain text their interpretation varies wildly. Even within the same community because people alter dogma to fit their needs. The dogma was designed to fit the needs of the rulers.

I even agree with huge parts of the Koran. Much of it is very good. Just like the Bible, the Sutras and the Torah. It contains a nugget of goodness but Muhammad understood what every other smart guy does and that’s the fact that people can be trained only so much; you can’t change their nature.

We already know this is true.

Would China supply the Taliban with weapons, for example? Certainly, Beijing has no conscience selling armaments to despotic regimes, but it would surely tightly control anything it did sell to Afghanistan. Some media reported the Taliban had asked for Chinese surface-to-air missiles when the Taliban delegation visited last month.

The Taliban has already said they won’t interfere with China’s internal affairs, but yeah, you’re right it’s probably lies and China knows that. If China can buy assurances, they will certainly invest in them.

Russia will give them whatever they want to wage unending war as long as it’s a cheap enough trade. China actively wants to avoid terrorism and association with terrorism that might come back to haunt them later but they don’t care one whit as long as its not directed at them. If you can find it Chinese state run media even wrote a long sad story to Saddam Hussein’s brutal murder by evil American controlled forces in Iraq. That poor old man! It’s enough to bring tears to the eyes.

I believe that China would provide them with a show of support in exchange for an opportunity for better relations in the future. If they can buy someone off, they will bribe them. Giving them money to buy weapons from Russia and Iran is right up the Chinese ally of washing their hands of responsibility. The Taliban is a lot of groups. China will actively recruit allies and that means giving support. Not the shotgun method that Russia uses but through repeated overtures that include the time honored Chinese tradition of gifts, handshake deals over dinner and any other way to describe the passing of bribes.

I just found out that in the agreement Trump and Pompao negotiated with the Tailiban they agreed to withdraw all Western contractors. This had the effect of grounding the Afghani airforce which required the use of such contractors to keep their helicopters and planes in the air. No contractors, no medivac or air support. Which screwed the Afghani army.

Biden could have broken this provision, which would have been seen as an escalation. But it indicates how Trump wanted out so bad, that his underlings created an agreement the Afghani government couldn’t live with. The idiocy,
