Even better: Korea isn’t even one country.
Imagine a half a country trying to constantly convince the rest of the world they invented pitfighting?
Come the fuck on. But that’s basically Korea, pick a side.

The korean art of “Grab My Wrist Bro” is too deadly for MMA
@A11 I don’t use wrist techniques in sparring or competition even though aikido is famous for it. I was never good at them so I never really used them. Do you think I’m weird?
@Tomiki Could a hapkido expert use the joint manipulation at 0:21 against a BJJ or judoka?
It’s possible I’ve used similar techniques against judoka in class before. The problem is that in these demonstrations the uke(the person who is being thrown) doesn’t have a really strong grip. Basically it’s harder to do a technique on someone depending on how hard they grip.
@Tomiki Do Judokas themselves ever use it?
@A11 The short answer is no. Attacking the wrist was never taught to me in all my years of judo. But I heard that wrist locks are taught in kata that old judo guys practice.
Ths Goshin Jutsu Kata, particularly.
Of course, BJJ does them routinely.
My Aikido teacher decided since Kenji Tomiki created the goshin jutsu we were going to learn it. I tried using the goshin jutsu in randori with successes and failures. I used the goshin jutsu successfully against a pretty big and muscular guy who competed in the olympics in judo. But I failed using it against a guy who is 5’7 and skinny in aikido randori. The aikido guy wasn’t from my class he’s from a club in Britain.
It I am BJJ ref, and you make somebody sit or roll, because of wristlock, I am giving you 2 points.
Famously, I am not a well loved ref.
Half blind, and with my sense of humor, and ideas about fairness.
I don’t understand why wouldn’t they get 2 points? Isn’t it technically a takedown?
Because BJJ is for pussies.
It is, when I ref BJJ with points.
Yes, and it is not for you,
as pussies, are remarkable,
in their resiliency,
and pain tolerance.
How much do Wrist lock depend on raw strength to be able to pull off?
Dan the wolfman proved he could use it on BJJ guys but he’s very strong.
Gravity and body mass are more than enough, in many cases.
And in others, not much strength is required to break or sprain a wrist.
@Dr.Gonzo When I challenged the TaeKwonDo assistant instructor(2 Dan) who had a tight lock on My Wrist, he went through hell trying to twist it.
And failed.
He could of course strike me and then apply it, but for arguments sake…
So, he missed that wristlock, and may not know how to apply them in full resistance situations.
We have seen BJJ black belts do them successfully to other BJJ black belts in World Tournament competition.
@Dr.Gonzo Why did he fail? The grown man was a legit black belt/national competitor. And quite aerodynamic in his attempt.
He flipped over my back in an attempt to steamroll me.
Nothing worked. I stopped the excercise out of fear that he would cross the line (play dirty).
They all said that they would break My wrist if I resist
I said prove it …
I obviously had to excert myself somewhat but nowhere near 100% to just stall him.
