An attorney for Koppenhaver said his client has struggled with the response to the allegations against him.
“The hardest thing for my client is seeing the responses from the media, the public. There’s been a lot of statements on one side,” said attorney Brandon Sua. “The media has done a good job of painting my client as a monster, but my client is not a monster. He is a good guy.”
A statement would come “when the time is right,” Sua said, adding that his client did not do “anything illegal.”

When my brother was an attorney, he told me: “I’d rather be a defense attorney for the most heinous murderers in the world than work in divorce.”
My old roommate is a public defender, and I asked him how he dealt with such things. “If I know my client is guilty, then the jury will pretty much always also figure it out.” When dealing with clearly guilty clients, he usually told them to plead as such and try and take some kind of plea bargain.

Have you read anything? She has multiple different stories, lied to the cops, changed her story about them still being boyfriend/girlfriend, he had a key, he discovered them in bed together, she admitted she had sex with the other dude, tweeted a bunch of contradictory things and is a porn star. With the climate right now on abuse, if he gets off or gets less than 10+ years people will freak out. Instagram and twitter have made people stupid about keeping their mouths shut.

Other than lying to the cops nothing she did was illegal and certainly not a beatable offense. There are a lot of domestic abuse cases like this one where the woman changes her story, I just see it as the game as usual rather than a game changer.
