A good code of conduct would be ‘do not expose minors to sexuality of any form, be it artistic, educational, lifestyle, or “my imperative as a trans.”’
When they become “of age,” they can make that decision for themselves. Until then, the parents should have the say as to what they learn and know.
If you realize you are gay, or straight, or trans, or whatever at 8 years old, that does not mean the entire world must know about it, regardless of your “needs.” And, in any case, you’re not just talking about orientation and pronouns, when you forcibly bring pre-pubescent children in to the equation.
This is not an accusation of trans people rights.
This is an accusation towards rapists, pedophiles, exhibitionists, and voyeurs, all of whom routinely masquerade as children, women (including lesbians), and in general people they are not, when they hunt and groom people in online environments.
That does not mean children are bad, women are bad, lesbians are bad, nor any type of person predators who as a cover identities to gain access to their prey.
And is a problem that exists independently of trans people.
Don’t make the fix too complicated or it won’t work. This has nothing to do with general LGBT people, it’s just people.
Crime statistics demonstrate that males are targeted less frequently than females.
Unaccompanied minors are the greatest risk, followed by young women.
We don’t separate them just because of modesty. The concept of modesty is a product of human desire for safety. We separate genders because men are different than women in ways that make them dangerous.
Kids are getting exposed to anime and furry cartoon porn as early as preschool, and usually because their friends share it.
More than half the open web is legal porn. Add in the dark web and even some not so dark “free speech” shit holes, and it’s a horror show that would scar most adults for life.
I have been going to drag clubs, gay clubs, and around the demographics that are now collectively called transgender since the 1980’s, and that is not one that I have heard much, within those demographics, nor among their detractors (who are usually religious, in nature).
If you say that you hear it, I am not saying you haven’t, only that the statement you mention was certainly not common in the 1980’s, the 1990’s, or the early 2,000’s in the United States.
What I have heard from the detractors of the alternative sexual or gender identification or cross dresing lifestyle demographic, whether they were directing those criticisms at the gay community, the cross dressing community, or the community that is seeking or got sex reassignment medical treatments, is accusations of perversion, or acting against God’s will, or in some cases, accusations that those lifestyles or behaviors are linked to pedophilia (which is ironic, as many a pastor or priest or iman has groomed and sexually assaulted minors in their congregations).
We’re just talking about being good people, here. There’s nothing to enforce (except the sexual predator laws that are already on the books). If it’s not a big deal, then I should be able to whip my penis out wherever and whenever I want, and the mammary-endowed should be able to go topless at their leisure, as well.
Many indigenous cultures do not wear clothing, or not much clothing.
It would be absurd to suggest they were immoral for not wearing, or in some cases, not having clothes to wear.
True story. Open nudism is legal in many parts of Washington State.
In Seattle and Whatcom county you can go completely nude except designated areas like school zones. The only time I’ve ever heard about it being utilized is FEMEN-type protests in Seattle and the annual Bellingham Naked Bike Ride that is cordoned off, well advertised and all the locals are warned about it in advance.
