I like to pretend I know what I'm talking about
We did above the waste rules in an open dojang.
…and you seriously can’t see the flaws in that when compared to your claims?

His background is apparently some type of WAKO KB.

You mean Serbian Kickboxing Champion right?

no mouth piece or cup. No head gear. He wore foot protectors, I did not.

What were the rules specifically and what other gear were ya’ll wearing?

I am happy he can’t land shit but I was not able to impose my game. He is in his early 20s, I am close to 30.

I thought you said you wiped the floor with him and it cemented how awesome your three months of boxing were?

Rules were full contact Karate… That is no clinch, no low kicks. Kicks to mid section up permitted. Boxing punches allowed, no back fists. No gear worn besides his foot protectors and ITF gloves.
Everything he kicked I blocked or just simply evaded. Actually he landed one body kick but it did absolutely nothing. My body is well conditioned physically from my boxing.
He has awesome leg dexterity and has won Kickboxing Championships in Serbia. Also fast. The only thing I dislike about him is that he kicks to knock me out. I know from simply blocking the kicks that he doesn’t hold anything back. That rubbs me the wrong concidering his level, that he shows complete disregard for safety.

He kicks like a modern K1 kickboxer. Full swing. No lead leg sidekicks. Every technique is to KO me.
You do know this makes you look like you’re full of shit.
Anyway, my experience so far in above the waste/no clinch rules is inconclusive. It’s very hard for the western boxer to get in range to punch effectively if the kicker does not comply. However, it’s equally hard for a kicker to actually do damage if the other side does not try to kick himself, and has experienced facing other kickboxers.

He landed Zero clean kicks on me . And this is a guy who has a competitive background in full contact. He actually got bored and wanted me to kick. It just didn’t match up very well.

TKD does give you experience of kicks thrown at you from different angles. I am surprised how I parry some of his shots, holding on for dear life.
I just went back and reread your OP, to be sure I wasn’t suffering from dementia or the lingering damage of having recently taken a bad fall and being thrown on my head.

Six pages after asking whether or not boxing is effective against kickboxing “in an average gym”, whatever the fuck that means, you are now answering your own question, with anecdotal tales of epically grandiose bullshit.

Why did you start this thread?

Yeah, now he’s starting a whole new line of bullshit.

Your sparring match did nothing to prove your argument. You realize back fists are allowed in kickboxing. Clinch in KB and boxing (western). Doesn’t sound like he has much of game. Serbia has fighters. Name?

Sorry. Someone’s lying. Your story doesn’t add up.

Again.

You were sparring with headshot using TKD polyurethane gloves and three months of boxing, no mouth guards and no cups at full contact?
Holy crap that is a recipe for disaster. You and the people responsible for yalls safety were seriously fucking up and you must punch like a bitch.
You don’t think I exhibited any form of skill?
Yes, the skill of making me click on terrible Youtube videos.
You are so wrong and ignorant on so many topics I am stunned. I am pretty sure it isn’t a writing or communication issue but just ignorance.

TKD is NOT kickboxing. Dumping MT guys on their ass is common. TKD sucks and most players are as delusional about their skill sets as you are.

It’s hard to follow this kind of insane logic, because it’s not based on any research, just what you thought up. And yet your narrating like its a National Geographic series.

The “Western Boxer” and “The Kickboxer” are not species. They don’t follow any sort of natural law.
Cormier does Not ONLY wrestle. Your point is thus mute.
Moot. Go eat some Tide.

No wait…sigh…don’t eat Tide.

This is my father, although pretty old in the clip. There’s older footage of him at his best.
