I’m sorry you were taught horrible Chi Sao… Chi Sao is a drill, if you use it in a real fight somethings gone amiss… Its supposed to teach you sensitiivy dude…
I know all that. Sensitivity still goes out the window when you’re in a fight and adrenaline goes V-Tech.
No we chi sao’d on the floor too.
Dude… seriously?
Gah didn’t I say I was gonna back out… HEAHACHE!!!
This is YMAS after all…
Sil Lum Tao help ease the mind.
I ment, okay quick test. Were you taught forward intention. When you did Sil Lim Tao was your Wu Sao infront of your Nose or infront of your stomach/chest. Did you lean back and last but not least, did you Chi Sao infront of your stomac/chest or up infront of your eyes.
What, thats absolutely bs. I was taught GET THE F*** OUTTA THE WAY and then proceed with some sort of practical technique you were taught, whihc would be something to do with not touching the blade at all…
Whats the sudden obession with Bong Sao, I’ve only Bong Sao’d once in a match with my boxer friends and he had more momentum so he went straight through and knocked my noggin…
Though I did find it very useful against Karate people… You have to chain your attacks.
Have you got any video of you sparring with boxers? We don’t get a lot of videos of WC guys seriously trying their stuff out against different styles and I guess that quite a few people would be interested in seeing that.
More Wing Chun silliness - this is an extreme example but there were/are people who were being taught this:

I’ve done it all, plus wide rolling, plus pushing hands, plus single hands, plus the shins.
Are you trying to save me?

Just saying you probally learnt from a Chunner who loved Larping… you know…
Didn’t understand how to use a chain punch, blah blah blah…
There are so many Fake Wing chun out there, that become sifu through seminar.
Si lum Tao is a breathing tehnique like San ching in karate. It help improve your health, Martial art not always about fighting.
I just want to contribute my knowledge but you all talking shit , like 12 yo kiddy ( yes you are) with hillarious no point question, and yea stupid question.
How to kick ass ? come to me, I kick your ass,- funny question.

SSX, if you want any information on how -ing -un is represented around the world, just do a quick search on the forums for any of the names (wing/ving chun/tsun/etc). You may or may not have the “real” WC, but there have been plenty more before you, and will likely be plenty more after. This is why video documentation is so important, and especially so when you’ve got guys like tataksarella running around.
The funniest thing is almost all Wing chun or ving tsun or whatever you called in western show you stupid fight movement, that actually not the Wing chun it self. And train both in karate and wing chun , and I don’t see any big different between the two art, except WC is focus to very short distance fight.
You dont really understand how it works here. People show videos then talk about it. Its usually about how stupid the people in the video are and how bad their kung fu is.
Sort of. The truth is, they usualy complain because a good chunner doesn’t look like he is using chun.
You have no video so people will talk about how stupid you sound. You sound stupid to them because many people come here and talk about real and fake wing chun. After people make fun of them they make or find a video and then people laugh at the video and the person who posted it.
No, not true. You post a legit video and ask for help people do not laugh. If you say here is super secret deadly chun, even chunners laugh at you.
If you want to break this cycle you should show a video, but if the video is no good people will laugh at you again and the video. I dont know you but I am sure this will happen to you.
Naw, if the video is represented correctly you will be fine.
You dont need to try to compare Wing Chun with a top MMA fighter just against someone not to stupid when it comes to fighting. Average people that compare themselves with superior people have self esteem problems.
