Ok, so for a few years now, I’ve kept to myself and not really interacted with anyone outside of my clubs or work colleagues. I’m not a big fan of pubs, clubs or anything like that, and i havent dated anyone really for a very long time. I’ve decided now, being 26 and and that I’ve seldom considered company, to try to get out and get talking to ladies.
I realized today why Im not meeting anyone who makes my head turn and it’s because I might have a bit of a thing for athletic types. I was at another gym, not the one i work at but one of our other locations, and shit me, I realized my type when I went in. Couple of young girls, mid 20’s Id wager, picking up some heavy shit for rows and doing weighted pull ups. Didn’t even consider I like an athletic girl until I saw some of the back muscles I did today. They werent body builders by any means but they just looked really strong and in really good shape.
My usual places of training and that don’t have a great deal of women, and those that do are mums in their 40s who train karate with their kids, none of them stick around for BJJ or K-1. The gym I work at typically has older women who are probably at the age to be my mother if not grandmother.
I think I’ll make an effort to keep going to the other location. It’s been years since I even took anyone out on a date, let alone saw someone and took a second look, now it’s groups.
Only thing is Im so out of practice with people I have no idea how to approach anyone. It’s been YEARS since I last even tried.
If you’re in a public or semi-public place, lots of people, start with eye contact and a smile. Work up to buying a drink and go from there.
Also, some women are totally cool with making the first move, and not even just the ones that you have to pay up front. They are fewer and far between, so you can practice on just the eye contact and smile while you wait for one of them to come to you.

The article is about having sexual intercourse with students because “Instructors are in a position of social power, of psychological power, and even physical power over their students” but at the very moment you got married you have no power anymore… nor sex.
