Blabla, Dana saved the UFC, blabla…but really, at some point the douchebaggery has GOT to be getting bad for business, no?
I think it depends on what percentage of your patrons are douchebags themselves. For instance, if your business is patronized by a high quotient of D-Bags then your D-Baggery should reflect that trait which is found in your consumers. I’m sure there’s a mathematical formula for this, and it probably has a name like: the Rosenthal-Hammler Theory of Douche.
Would you stop watching UFC because Dana is a douche sometimes? Do you think any of the casual fans know or care about his video-blog?
Yes, if it got to the point where he stood on a UFC PPV and acted like that, then it might drive some people away. That is a long way from acting like a cast member of TUF on his video-blog however.
dana white’s videoblog is seriously like jerkoff material for the hardcore mma fan.

This.
Most casual MMA fans know nothing of the behind the scenes stuff.
What I don’t get, and i admit that i have no head for Business is why did Dana see EliteXC and Affliction as competitors?
If the events are on at different times then surely more promotions has got to equal more chance for people to get into the sport and therefore more business for the other promotions I.E. UFC in the long run.
No?
People are only going to spend so much money to watch MMA. Also, if those top fighters (Fedor) are fighting in Affliction, they’re not fighting in the UFC.
