From my own experience speaking to both black Americans of late they seam to be favouring the GOP more now due to more recently perceived failures.
(similar to my wifes family in NY who are all Colombian immigrants who came legally to the US)
Particularly by a black president who didnt seam to have improved conditions for black people as much as they had expected combined with the current assistance given to migrants.
One chap said to me the other day (who lives in Cleveland) “how is somebody going to lend somebody money when they still aint paid me back my money at least republicans said they never giving me back my money”
The guys I know from NY say very similar things , I dont think it can be credibly argued that liberals generally want to proactively help minorities more than conservatives I just think that the perception is that some of what they are doing isnt working very well so it can leave them open for being called “Th3 reeel rasists”
Perhaps if they operated more like private companies and regularly assessed policy results objectively and allowed ego to be set aside and simply say “thats not working lets try something different” from time to time it would help but that goes the same for both sides in equal measure.
