On Tuesday night in Acailandia, Western Brazil, strawweight women’s MMA fighter Monique Bastos was attacked in the street on her way to jiu-jitsu class. One of the men, Wesley Sousa de Araujo, was left crying on the floor when he attempted to steal Bastos’s phone.

Amazingly enough, she missed all of the broken glass, lava and needles and none of the bystanders kicked her in the head while she was on the ground.
