Thick Brows - Lebeke1 likes to take a crap in the PT forums

Many fighters seem to have protruding eyebrows. Why is that? Especially boxers and those in mma. Is it because of the constant blows they receive? Or is it natural selection; fighters with denser skulls = better chin = make it further = more prevalent? Stupid question, I know, but curiosity…

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT DOING IN THE PT FORUMS??? WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THE PT FORUMS???

ASK STUPID QUESTIONS IN FUCKING GITMO OR IN FUCKING YMAS, NOT IN THE FUCKING PT FORUMS!!!

Ummmm - do you mean the bony brow ridges, i.e - part of the skull? If that is the case then yes, they are an advantage in a striking art. I don’t know if there is any scientific correlation between protruding brow ridges and the ability to withstand headshots, but I’ve seen it at work in my boxing class. Our instructor has a rather cro magnon-esque cranium and a punch that lands anywhere near the upper half of his head seems to glance off. On the other hand, an Asian girl in my class has had several strikes actually land on her eye and caused a fair bit of pain for her. The instructor was trying to figure out why she got punched in the eye so often when he’d never been hit in the eye at all during his career - and it became pretty obvious when we compared facial profiles - his protruding brow ridges shielded his eyes well, while her flatter face left her more vulnerable.

Bushy brows? Two words: Rock Lee.

Damn straight.

and that is forever a testament to the fact that you suck.

Well, yeah; I meant the bony brow ridges. Why wouldn’t it have to do with health? You’d think discussing important facial bones would have something to do with health; especially when considering it may have an effect on your fighting performance, and thus, health. For future reference, where would this topic belong to?

it probably has to do with the fact that the health and PT forums have to do with self-improvement of one’s own health and physical performance and not your frontal eminence, of which you can really do nothing about.

What? I am the only one with an actual opinion on this?

And where is all the *drool drool * Asian gurl boxerz drool drool. You guys are off your game today.

This is serious Phrenology!

Who can read the german for the bit at the eyebrow ridge?

sigh
fine.

POWST PIXURS UR GTFO!

And you say that as though I actually care what you think! :laughing1

Haha, I’m just playin’. I’m crying on the inside.

Did some research. An article on steroids vs thick skulls -http://www.slate.com/id/2178288/fr/flyout
Quote- “And HGH (human growth hormone) can indeed affect the size of your noggin. The hormone, which is produced by the pituitary gland, normally stimulates bone and tissue growth throughout the body. If there’s too much of it, the body starts to develop an abnormal amount of flesh and bone. This affects the entire body to some degree, but in some places the chemical receptors tend to be especially sensitive. In an adult, very large doses of HGH can cause the skull to thicken and the forehead and eyebrow ridge to become especially prominent. Hands and feet also grow out of proportion with the rest of the body.”
It might explain why some fighters have extremely large heads for their body size.
