Martial Arts Help!!!

My point will be made, although first, allow me to introduce myself…

I’m a former US Army soldier and an Infantryman. I’m going back in this coming July due to obvious reasons including the economy, and because I’m quite young and desire something for retirement.
Let’s just say that my discharge wasn’t the ‘best’ and I would like to go fix things, so I can get a good ‘RE-1’ instead of an ‘RE-3’ and get fully “Honorable” instead of “General Under Honorable Conditions”.

Before anyone tries… i’m not changing my mind about this, as I am dead set on it.

Sorry for the life story.

I would like to ask you all a question since i’m returning to active duty…
When I was in they taught us that we can’t rely only on our weapon/gun to do all of the fighting for us… we must be able to be effective in hand-to-hand combat as well.

Here are my opinions on this matter…

 1. Never give up your ground when you’re facing multiple attackers, or are in danger of it.

 2. Never simply ‘bum-rush’ an opponent with a knife (especially if you’re unarmed and have a high probability of facing multiple attackers). You must keep his mind off of attacking you, keeping him in a ‘defensive posture’ in order to obtain a good offensive.

 3. Never ‘play footsy’ or ‘see who’s going to attack first’. You must attack swiftly, accurately, and effectively with a strong emphasis on ‘violence of action’.

Now as I am human, my opinions could be wrong. I will also keep in mind that opinions are like bullshido… it is everywhere.
It’s clearly logical to believe that only the most experienced martial artists could give the real logical explanations on how things should be done.
Those who have survived through MANY encounters will OBVIOUSLY suffice in many different scenarios, even in the military after a certain amount of military training and obtaining military tactical knowledge.
Now to those who are ‘real’ veterans of the martial arts world, that have an ability to expand their minds past the simple ‘streets of America’…

Personally, if i’m going to take out an opponent with disadvantageous (yet advantageous) odds such as my IBA (to those who don’t know, it’s military body armor. it also restricts mobility) and my kpod, I know that I must kill him as quickly as possible, while protecting vulnerable areas of my body (face, throat [even though we wear throat guards], legs or groin). I can use that body armor and helmet to my advantage, as it defends against shock, ballistics, and strikes.

The biggest threat is (of course) facing multiple opponents with guns…
In that scenario, you’re pretty much screwed… you’d better hope they’re willing to take prisoners that day.

The second biggest threat is facing a single opponent with a weapon, OR multiple opponents with melee weapons… that way you COULD possibly go for his/one’s weapon if you’re within reach and there’s no one there to shoot you in the back in the process.
If you’re facing multiple opponents at once, you could do your best to put them all in front of you and take the first one closest to you hostage as best as possible, giving your other opponents difficulty getting to you as this person would be on their side.

The third biggest threat is facing a single opponent with a weapon other than a gun/rifle/carbine/blowgun(hehe).

The fourth biggest threat is facing a single opponent WITHOUT a weapon of any sort, that could possibly have good hand-to-hand fighting skills.
The most realistic way to think about this, is that you MUST take out this person as quickly and as effectively as possible so 1) you don’t alert other enemies that could be nearby and 2) you don’t know this man from adam… or his fighting abilities.

So the real question is this…

Is there a system for soldiers/marines to use that will help us fight against enemies with guns, enemies with melee weapons, and/or enemies with the same or less odds?
Does any of you have opinions on what we could use in order to help us alleviate from these problems?
Is there a possibility that some of you could develop a well-rounded, tactical system that would help us during such encounters?

With the advantages/disadvantages in mind, the most common types of weapons in combat are guns (of course), knives, chemical agents, other melee weapons (such as tazers) from both our end and the enemies end.

So what would all of you train on in offense/defense?

Let’s keep it clean, ppl…

I beg your pardon?
I only have one single account. I’ve had this one since august.
Please don’t insult me that way again. You’ve got no real grounds to do so.

I could provide you my dd214 if I had it. As I said before, the economy sucks…
In fact, since you must know my life story (since you want my dd214)… I’m living in a motel paid for by the Texas Workforce Commission, using their Wi-Fi service. I don’t even have a real address, and have less than a week left.
I live in an area where jobs are very hard to come by, while my wife waits collects her paycheck. She’s a nurse.

Do you normally insult new guests this way?

By the way, i’ve read the rules!!!

Tell me how I can provide my dd214 since it’s so important.

I need Martial Arts Help!!!

Yes, well you better tell AriesKai to stop using your computer. You didn’t read the rules because, there is nothing in this thread that deserved to be in the MABS subforum or newbietown.

I thought that it should be in newbie town… I mean… it’s a newbie question; is it not?

And how in the hell did you know that he was using my computer?

Hah, what you got my IP address from his account?

I’m tellin you. He really is a fucking idiot. The kid (he’s 17, i’m 21) sat on my computer the whole time and did nothing but talked shit the whole time.

They sure do need help. From what did I say?

That stuff.

No, it’s a fucking stupid question smeared with dog feces. Hence YMAS, where it can be given the response it deserves.

I’m tellin you. He really is a fucking idiot. The kid (he’s 17, i’m 21) sat on my computer the whole time and did nothing but talked shit the whole time.

Of coures he’s an idiot. He’s you.

Right. That’s why I moved this thread from MABS to YMAS.

Yet, you read the rules.

Then you deleted the opening post and said it was because of cyberbullying.

Yet, you read the rules.

Then you moved it to newbietown.

haha fail.

Rule #1: Don’t be an asshole.

Yet, you read the rules.

Posting Inappropriate Content in the Wrong Forum: Some forums have a bit more rigid standards of conduct, and for good reason. If everyone on the planet could behave in the same way, we’d have no need of front doors. But we can’t, so it’s beneficial for some groups to decide who they want to keep company with and for whom they want to pretend they’re not home while peeking through the curtains. Don’t be the asshole that constantly rings the doorbell, in this case, posting unwanted content in a forum where it’s not welcome. Read the stickies, read the threads, and figure it out for yourself what’s appropriate.

This is why I deleted my last thread (including you breaking rule #1) and moved over to “noobietown”.

You said that the thread ‘didn’t’ belong in noobietown… even though it did?

Again, rule #1 broken.

So… quit breaking rule #1.

Coming from the guy living in a hotel with a 17 year old boy hmmmm…???Yeah.

When did I say I was living with a 17 year old boy…?
You’re very childish.

I live with my wife, that’s a female, that’s 20 years old, and is an RN.
Yes, we’re going through a hard time>We know the true value of a dollar, and how to make it without one.

You obviously have no honor, or respect.
Do you even belong on a martial arts forum?
So… quit breaking rule #1.
Irony:

Sockpuppetry: You only need one account for any honest purpose.
Registering more than one is a sure sign that you’re an asshole, especially if you’re doing so to avoid a temporary or permanent ban for other violations of Rule #1.

I allowed the 17 year old boy to come over here to stay out of trouble. As you may not know, the crime rate around here is quite high…
A lot of robberies, ect…

I felt that it was a good thing to do, so I let him come over here for a while.

Nothing wrong with that.

Your insults… on the other hand… are.

Is there anyone else above you, that holds rank over you, that I can speak to?

Like I said, you’re a very childish person. You’re probably what… 16/17 yourself? Or did you live a very sheltered life…?

I told you what was what, you didn’t want to take it, now let’s see how you handle this situation like a grown adult.

Enough talking, let’s see what you can do without having me banned unlawfully.

lol this is a waste of time, as it is pathetic. I can’t believe that i’m actually sitting here arguing with a child over the internet.
i’ve got better things to do, you jerk-offs.

to those who are adult enough to not lower yourselves to this… congratulations and good night.

laters.
