I did a couple things. There are various analysis tools on the web that look at sentence structure and word usage that can offer meaningful analysis. Here is a basic one:
Above that you need some specialized software. I’ve only dabbled in this area a bit and worked on some prototype tools that I’d like to expand out further. One person wrote a tool called “unmask” which attempts to spot a person’s writing from a collected body of their work. This is used to discover, for instance, anonymous users real potential identities:
Otherwise I just used my eyes to try to spot common word usage, typos, punctuation use, etc. It’s not scientific enough right now though. Again I’ll state that my look at AikidoGirl’s postings are inconclusive but it doesn’t look like Ashida. Take that for what it’s worth.
Law dog told me “I use Accurint. I’ve tried several over the years, and although it’s not 100% accurate, it’s by far the most accurate I’ve used. Most of the law enforcement agencies around here also use it.”
I’ve used Accurint, when I worked in collections. I thought it worked pretty creepily well. I’m going to have to catch up on all this - it seems to happened in a window when I was without internet for a bit.
I’m just coming back to my first gut feeling and I’m saying that Aikidogirl IS Ashida Kim
I just read Aikidogirls response to the article, and her little contrived story about BS’ers showing up to some dojo and now there is no doubt in my mind
