Note: AK is extremely combative towards the Wikipedia staff, perceiving that he is the target of flamers and trolls. The staff is slowly losing patience with him, especially Fire Star. He also has a habit of copy-pasting the same stories or rants in multiple places, such as Aesopian’s profile page. An example (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Flcelloguy#Ashida_Kim ):

I’ve looked over the material related to Ashida Kim and have come to the conclusion that there’s not much we can do to help this guy. He’s already had several administrators offer to converse with him. It’s obvious that he wants to intimidate people into accepting his version of the article through blather and screed, which just isn’t going to work on Wikipedia (it never does). I’m going to continue to watch this editor and this article, but I see no point in attempting to engage an editor who has already disregarded several attempts at engagement by other administrators. An unfortunate situation, in any case. Kelly Martin July 3, 2005 23:53 (UTC)

I left User:Ashida Kim a quick note mentioning some of our policies. Not sure whether this is going to help matters at all, but if not, it probably makes sense to start escalating matters by filing an RfC. Thanks, JYolkowski // talk 4 July 2005 01:40 (UTC)

More as I find it.

Entry 1: Ninja studies a ticket out of abused home:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Ashida_Kim&diff=prev&oldid=18019663

Grand-Master Kim.

Thank you, Sir. I owe you my gratitude!

Please allow me to explain and I promise I will keep it short so as not to bore you.

When I was a child, I was raised in a very destructive home. My parents were abusive and negative. When I was eleven years old I came across your publications Secrets of the Ninja and Secrets of Invisibility. I studied them diligently and practiced daily without fail. Meditation, stealth, self control and focus. You taught me about the perceived image projected by “ego” and showed me how to find my True Self. You taught me to breathe properly so as to tap into my Chi energy. You taught me to control the mind and body like a machine. You gave me an identity; No name. You taught me everything; No art. From your teachings I grew strong and intelligent. When I had a question growing up I thought, “What would Master Kim expect of a student?” I realized that the Ninja is an intelligent dynamic person who can adapt to any situation and use it to their advantage. My life was difficult and sad, but you taught me to see the strength in this situation. I turned weakness into strength and adapted to suit my needs. Never once did I turn to any type of “vice” to control my “self” in my formative years. (no drugs, no alcohol, etc.) I turned to your teachings to guide me through these years of challenges. I grew up strong and intelligent and to this day I still practice what you have taught me. Without your teachings, your openness to share this secret knowledge, I would surely have suffered a far worse fate. My brother died by his own hand because he could not control his thoughts and they crushed him emotionally.

Today, your teachings still guide me. Still learning, still practicing, still mystified by these powerful yet simple teachings; I don’t know just how to say Thank You.

No matter what I say or write, it cannot convey the depth of my Respect for you, my Gratitude to you, and the Honor of learning from your teachings. You have guided me where others abandoned me.

I remain humbly; your ghost student. You will always be to me, my hidden Master. (Thank you.)

Gratefully,

Brian Majanovic 36 years old

Entry 2: AK’s Biography, attempted to be put in the AK article on July 2nd, but repeatedly removed.

ASHIDA KIM BIOGRAPHY
Ashida Kim is an internationally renowned martial arts expert who teaches and lectures on Ninjitsu, the Invisible Fist, around the world. He is the author of Secrets of the Ninja, Iron Body Ninja, Ninja Mind Control, and many others.

He began his study of the martial arts at age twelve. His father being a career soldier, he had frequent opportunities to attend a variety of Judo classes. Almost every post where they were stationed had one. At that time Judo was the only Oriental system availible to Western students. Karate was an advanced level that was offered only to seniors, although there were a few striking techniques in Judo known as Atemi-Waza.

Since most of the members of these clubs were professional soldiers, they had little time for children. So, as in the Shaolin monastery experience, he was more often than not restricted to sweeping the mat and observing than to any actual instruction until age fourteen. By the time his father retired he was sixteen years old and at Brown Belt level: although the experience of often changing Judo clubs had left him with little regard for earning belt rank, since Judoka of that period held to the tradition that one must begin each time from the beginning.

He does credit this training, however, with teaching him the proper and safe way to fall; which has held him in good stead throughout his practice, and saved him many times. In High School, he was a member of a short-lived Wrestling Team.

While at university, he attended a Karate demonstration given by a Yudansha who had trained in Okinawa. His style was Shotokan and he too had learned while his father had been stationed overseas. By then Karate was fairly widespread and there were hints of an even more deadly art known as Kung Fu that began to surface. Adding the repertoire of kicks and punches to his arsenal of Judo and Wrestling holds, he soon picked up the system, based in large part on the discipline of patience and practice he had learned in the Gentle Way. Hard style or linear Karate is widely taught today, the most popular being Taekwondo, the Hand and Foot Way. Many basic strikes and practice forms are similar. They can be taught to large or small groups by rote, and develop excellent military discipline.

In 1968, several fraternity brothers at the university took it upon themselves to hire out their fighting skills and so found themselves at the Chicago Democratic Convention acting as “security” for some of the protest groups who planned to march there. At that time, the co-ordinators for this service were the Blackstone Rangers, a street gang known and feared throughout the city. Their name was later changed to El Ruhkn, and their chieftain sent to jail for trying to sell guns to Libya in 1979.

They arranged for a training session between those who had volunteered to protect the crowds from the police, should it become necessary. And, one Count Juan Raphael Dante, Grandmaster of the Black Dragon Fighting Society, of whom it was rumored he had fought in the Sierra Maestra with Fidel Castro, and killed three men with his bare hands in Death Matches in mainland, closed China, as the Sensei. His style was a particularly vicious form of Hung Gar Kung Fu that he had incorporated into, by far, the most savage and terrifying form of self defense ever devised, which he called the Dance of Death. This credential opened the door to the Chinese systems of martial arts for student Ashida Kim.

And, made possible the study of Ninjitsu, the Silent Way. Among its diverse weaponry are Dim Mak, the Delayed Death Touch. A complete study of human anatomy and a logical progression from the basic vital and fatal points of Karate to the strangleholds and resuscitation techniques of Judo. Kuji Kiri, the strategy and tactics of combat as well as the psychology of man. And, the Art of Invisibility, Inpo and Tonpo, entering and escaping in addition to secret techniques of the magical arts. Thus earning the Ninja a reputation as “men who could fight or disappear.” This together with their philosophy of non-violence, has made them one of the most misunderstood martial arts of this century. All of which they relish, amused at the humor of so much confusion.

Since that time, Master Ashida Kim has written thirty books on the subject of martial arts, distributed worldwide and in five different languages. He has toured on the international seminar circuit to South Africa, where he appeared on SABC’s “Late Night Live,” with Kevin Savage; and participated in a televised Martialmania No-Holds-Barred event. Also, to Australia to teach Qi Gong, Ninjitsu, and Kata Dante; be written up in People magazine three times; and be featured on Brisbane’s “Good Morning Australia,” with Karen Milner.

He is virtually unknown to any but his closest allies. Simply because he does not boast nor brag of these accomplishments. He is much to busy participating in the adventure that is his life.

Entry 3: The origin of the name Bigfoot Kimitake, aka Ashida Kim:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Martial_Arts&diff=prev&oldid=18035650

any of the trolls who delight in attacking me make a big deal out of the fact that “my first name is Japanese and my last name is Korean,” AS IF ONLY KOREANS COULD BE NAMED KIM. “Ashida” is a Japanese word, it means “big foot.” It is not a name, it is a “nickname” I earned by kicking more than most of my contemporaries. Kim is short for Kimitake, a well respected family name of long standing. But, this is the sort of shallow and meaningless “attack” used by trolls to discredit me. Funny thing, I’m still here, LOL

Entry 4: Ashida Kim, Pimp Stopper.
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=McDojo&diff=prev&oldid=18038295

Fact is that Neal got his inspiration from a pimp I shut down in Maine in 1995. Seems this fellow was running a Dojo under our banner and invited me up for a seminar. Once there I discovered he was actualy running a brute and whore house where his underage female students were assigned to “bodyguard” anonymous visiting dignitaries who promptly took them to the barn for “secret lessons.” And his bully boys kept them in line. All the flame wars started as a result of this simple and legitimate act and his attempt to get revenge. The guys from Bullshido regularly come to my message board and called me a queer, post dirty pictures with my head on them, and a variety of other harassment techniques. We daily delete at least a dozen messages from the same old crew, all motivated and using the same talking points found here. But, you let them come here and spew their poison and won’t even respond to my pleas for an administrator to shut them down, nor let me edit the post so that I am not defamed. So, if it looks like a troll and it quacks like a troll, it’s probably a troll. You qualify, LOL

Entry 5: Chad “Solomon” Didn’t Really Trick Me
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=McDojo&diff=prev&oldid=18038617

One of the stunts the Bullshido guys pulled was to have a guy named Chad Solomon write in for a membership claiming to have all sorts of BJJ and MMA experience, wanting a Black Belt membership in our fraternity. We know that Valetudo has no belt ranking, so we certfied him as an “expert” in that system and admitted him as a Black Belt Equivalent contingent on him filling out and returning part of the membership booklet along with whatever credentials he wanted to have on file. He never did. Instead they claimed that I had “given him a phony black belt” and even posted a picture of the certificate to “prove it.” And what was on that certificate? The rank of EXPERT which HE never verified. This is typical of the harassment from you and others. I won’t be insulted, I won’t be lied about and I won’t be laid hands on. I don’t do these thing to others and I require the same from them.

Entry 6: My name isn’t Chris Hunter OR Radford Davis!
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Ashida_Kim&diff=prev&oldid=18063503

Saw your note about the Administrators list, went there. Just another bunch of redirects and definitions. No one to speak to. I see no way to discuss this except to engage in a flame war with them making charges and me disproving them as I have many times before and you lot deleting my replies to make me look bad. For twenty years they said my name was Chris Hunter. I kept telling them they were wrong. I am known by many names, Ashida Kim is the one I have chosen. Now they are saying my name is Radford Davis. They are wrong AGAIN! But, do they admit they were wrong for the first twenty years? Of course not. Just like you. You hide behind your silly policies and anonymity. Tell you what, give me Aesopian’s address and I’ll jump in his face personally and it won’t be on your PUBLIC FORUM. Because no amount of proof is sufficient for a troll. It’s just like being a Bush nominee. If I was Jesus Christ walking on the water they’d say, “Yeah! But, he can’t swim.” That is the mentality we are dealing with her Cesar. You gonna help? Or are you just part of the problem having a good time at my expense? Same goes for you Fire-Star. You’re real brave here where you can delete my posts. Got the cajones to e-mail me at dojopress@aol.com?

Entry 7: Ashida Kim name origin revisited:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Ashida_Kim&diff=prev&oldid=18094489

I can show you my birth certifcate, but that doesn’t say Ashida Kim on it because Ashida is a “nickname” it means “big foot” I earned it because I did more kicking than most of the other people in Nix Cairnley’s Okinawan Shotokan Class at Auburn University in 1968. Kim,in spite of all you pepole who say no Japanese is named Kim and only Koreans can be named that, is short for Kimitake, a well known and respected Samurai name of the 13th century that is extinct; wiped out in the Sword Hunt. But, just like when you all said I couldn’t fight and Matt Breyer posted one of my matches, you REFUSED to believe it was me fighting. Same when Bullshido said I wasn’t a member of the BDFS. So, I showed them my ID Card signed by Count Dante and they REFUSED believe that as well. No amount of proof is sufficient for a troll or a Democrapic commitee, LOL

Here Is Why Ninja Hide
from James Bennett, Australia Dear Terou (Ashida)

I had a bit of a funny enquiry the other day from a guy called Bradley… LeTerian the Godfist asia_i@hotmail.com // I have been speaking to this guy for a couple of years (on the odd occassion) he was originally introduced to me by Daniel… the guy is in the Military and does some serious grappling… he is a pretty big Black fellow… who up to and including now has always been friendly and polite./…

Anyway i’m getting to the rub… He asked me if I know your “real name” - he reckoned he was pretty sure you lived with a friend of your’s in Florida… He reckoned he wanted to catch up with you and talk to you, as he believes you are a pretender and are full of lies…

Me I said I didnt know all that much about you, other than you have always been friendly and never any bother to me or anyone else for that matter. and politely told him to think about his actions, as he sounded a little bit over the top… and stalking someone to have a verbal discussion could be seen as aggressive behaviour… … anyway I ended the conversation nicely as always …

I told him if I knew I wouldnt tell him, just like he wouldnt want me giving his details out… But I thought you should know everything you can, because he sounded serious about catchin’ up with you… which I think is a little bit fucked up… cause if someone came around my place wanting to defrock me it wouldnt be very pleasant… because I wouldnt be standing about jaw-jackin… and taking any sort of abuse from some disgruntled fan…

Apparently he is Living in Florida. He has always said he is in the Military and he has served in Germany for some time… … and goes down to train with some guy who lives in Florida - that was on some Martial Arts reality show…

From what he has said, he is married with 2 kids… .

He reckons he has spoken to you many times and said he even offered to fight for you once, but you upset him or some such tripe…

Hope i’m not alarming you, but thought you really ought to know., as this guy really has a stick up his bum about you… I told him you were a friend of mine and he should drop it, but I dont think he will… .

[You see, guys? I know nothing of this clown. I have never met him. I couldn’t possibly have done anything to him personally. I haven’t even been to Australia for ten years. But, his mind has been so poisoned by the propaganda at Bullshido and what was here, that he feels compelled to seek me out and fight me. As I said above, Ninjitsu is not about fighting. It is about self defense, and the best self defense is not being there. Thank you for the changes you have made. Just know that the only “controversy” about me is fabricated and disengenuous at best and malicious and dangerous at worst. A little common courtesy and respect go a long way.

I remain,

Ashida Kim

And here is today’s follow-up from James…

Terou…

No worries, just thought I better tell you… he rabbited on how he knew you lived with a friend of yours and all about your real name etc-- etc… and that he tracked you down blah blah blah… im in aggreance with you, if they really want to find someone you can - they just have to be prepared for an ass whoopin’ if they sneak up on you-- haa

Daniel also tried to talk this guy around… by saying leave it be … etc — Daniel was a bit concerned because he seemed to know your name … Daniel said he was concerned because it was the same one as on your passport… so be careful, but yeah the world is full of nut job wankers wanting to feel superior by trying to bring someone else down./…

You know the funny thing that sticks with me about writting my book, is the fact that so many people said you cant do that… like it was illegal for me to achieve anything… haaa./… human nature , someone else succeeding makes others feel inferior…

anyway keep well… check out the new pics on my web site… I will speak soon

dont let the turkeys bring you down… do what I do these days… Zero tolerance towards the assholes…

James Bennett

[Now, if this clown comes up in my yard and I have to kill him. I’m going to hold the lot of you responsible for sending him my way. This is NOT a game gentlemen. Actions have consequences. Hope you are proud of yourselves. If you want Sensei Bennett’s e-mail address so you can verify this threat, since you are always wanting me to “cite my sources,” you contact me privately. See, unlike you, I wouldn’t publish something about him that would draw fire. Thank you again for the changes you did make. Do feel a bit “damned by faint praise,” however, LOL “extra in a few movies” and “publicity stunt,” really! I never told those jerks it was a publcity stunt, I told them to send me the money and we’d talk. If they don’t have $10,000 to put up, then they are not serious about getting in the ring. They said they couldn’t trust me, that I’d just run off with the money. Haven’t run anywhere yet have I? They won’t trust me with cash but the want me to trust them not to gang up or shoot me? Proves they are not real contenders. All part of being a kung fu killer, boys. Even David Carradine gets punks like this challenging him and he doesn’t even claim any ability, just that he is an actor. I don’t see any entry bashing him on your “encyclopedia,” LOL You asked me above to have patience in case someone came in and wanted to change the page back. I say unto you that we aren’t done fixing it yet. And, when it is done, it should be protected so we don’t have to go through all this again. That seems fair to me,let’s talk.

More to be added as I find it.

I wish there was a way to verify that he attended Auburn University in 1968, and it’s funny how truly scared he is about someone hunting him down to kick his ass, on a side note our lawmakers here in FL made it legal to use lethal force during home invasions so he’s probably not kidding about killing somebody, but I doubt it’s going to be by hand-to-hand combat.

You could always call Aburn University. Ask to speak to their Alumni Office and ask if they have a record of a Radford Davis, or Christopher Hunter graduating from their fine institution between 1966 and say 1974:)

How about “infiltrating” a Stephen Hayes seminar and letting him live?.. LOL… it just keeps getting better and better

any of the trolls who delight in attacking me make a big deal out of the fact that “my first name is Japanese and my last name is Korean,” AS IF ONLY KOREANS COULD BE NAMED KIM.

Did a Zabasearch for surname Kimitake in whole of US: No trace. Typed it into google: Confirms that it is a JAPANESE name, seemingly both first and second name. Famous person who’s real name is Kimitake… Yukio Mishima (writer) was born as Kimitake Hiraoka. Looks like another smoke screen bullshit lead.

he thinks that they stole the ninja storyline for the new batman movie from him…

he’s his own worst enemy

Hey Steve, make sure you join the Martial Arts project on Wiki, and learn all the wikicode stuff so that you can properly format articles and such.

I was planning on getting acquainted with that stuff before formally joining.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I tried this, but for some reason I can’t call into Auburn’s area code. Probably they have their own PBX that isn’t recognized by my cell company :frowning:

I took the liberty of sending an email to the ‘interim VP of Alumni affairs’ as follows:

Subject: Confirming a graduation

Ms. Shaw:

I am an author writing you in the hopes I may be able to confirm the
scholarly credentials of an individual I’ve learned of in the course
of my research.

The gentleman’s name is Christopher Hunter, and he claims to have
attended Auburn. Based on his age, if he were a traditional student,
his attendance would have been between 1965-1975. He may have used the
name Radford Davis.

If you can provide any assitance in this matter, it would be of great
assistance to me in validating this person as a possible source.

Thanking you in advance for your time and consideration,

MK Foster

I hope that wasn’t too indiscrete or indelicate - but, hey, it’s all true, and I figured with the commitment we’re seeing from Sam and others and my recent wikipedia encounter with the Ninja himself, a call/email was the least I could do.

Also, steve, if the wiki workload gets to be too much for you, call on me - I’ve decided wikipedia interests me a bit and I might be looking into joining it regartless.

Hey Chad, could you join me over on the spliting hairs thread, Ashida is making lots of misrepresentations about when down between you, damn the little fucker is resilent

sure, but I’m going to try to not give away too much

How do you like me now?..

The Facts Regarding the Vale Tudo Blackbelt

  1. I went to the dojopress webpage ordering form for blackbelts here [10]

  2. I filled in my current and ACCURATE credentials in the “message to seller” box. I never lied or claimed to have BJJ/MMA/Vale Tudo experience. Anybody with any experience in Japanese martial arts would know that kyu ranks are for mudansha which are less than black belt. This is verbatim what was typed in, no more, no less:

Please send me a black belt certificate in “Vale Tudo”. My experience: 7th kyu Yoshukai Karate (World Yoshukai Karate Kobudo Organization); 1.5 years (untested) Atarashii Naginata (Southern California Naginata Federation); 5th kyu Aikido (Aikido Schools of Ueshiba); 7th kyu Judo (United States Judo Association)

  1. I was sent back two blackbelt/expert certificates in Vale Tudo signed by Christopher Hunter and R. William Davis and Ashida Kim in the mail along with the Dojo Academy of martial arts handbook, an Ultimate wrestling techniques manual, a BDFS ID card, a BDFS bookmark, a dojo academy of martial arts patch and a book ordering page listing dojo press products with the only personal correspondence in the whole packet which read: “thanks for the order, have a great day, ashida kim”

  2. It was never mentioned or implied that I was to supply cred/verifications at a later date, that’s really quite proposperous since you already sent out the blackbelt certs. The middle page of the dojo academy of martial arts handbook that you are referring too is actually a BDFS dojo application. Since I don’t care to open a dojo under the auspices of the BDFS or dojo academy of martial arts, there really was no reason to fill it out and send it in.

More information regarding this matter can be found at bullshido.net in this thread: [11] People can make up their own minds if what he did was OK and ethical or not, but at least all of the facts should be straight. Anybody that performs these types of practices will be criticized by our group. Whether it be Hatsumi or Hayes or Kim or whoever, trying to “plan B” somebody else doesn’t change the fact that Ashida Kim is doing it and doesn’t change the fact that it’s not OK. Much of the derision that Ashida Kim faces is actually brought on by himself. If he was to write his books and mind to himself, we’d probably not hear so much controversey surround him, but the fact is that he puts himself out there on the internet making bold and silly claims for all to see. The freedom that gives Ashida Kim the right to say and publish what he likes also gives us the right to criticize what he says and publishes. If he doesn’t like the negative publicity then he shouldn’t put $10,000 challenges on the internet and talk up chat rooms with crap about invisibility and mind control. None of this would matter if it was just fluff, but what makes him different is that he still takes himself very seriously which draws much ire from his critics.

Using aliases doesn’t make you a ninja, it makes you a paranoid liar

I love it, thank you, that will put Ashida on the defensive for a little while.

Critical:

Only reason we are subject to scrutiny is because we are held to a higher double standard and guys like you won’t shut up, LOL Even though I have demonstrated that there are numerous precedents for the way we run our Dojo, you continue to think that you should have some say in it. Not to continue the argument, because that is what you trolls want, I refer you to one of our authors who does have Vale Tudo experience http://www.dojopress.com/catalog.books16.html Kind of shoots holes in your theory that we have no one on staff who can make a graduation in this “sport.” But, you won’t accept his credentials either, will you? Closed minds, Steve.

D. Berto is listed here:

Dieusel Berto - (863) 293-0776 - , Winter Haven, FL 33880

He owns Tiger’s World of Martial Arts in Winter Haven, Fla. He has a son who boxed on Haiti’s Olympic team.

I’d like to hear some feedback before I respond to this.

I already looked into it and didn’t pursue it, he does seem legitimate, but don’t know how far in cahootz he is with him, do a search for berto in these threads in this forum

Simple, Dieusel Berto did not meet chad or even sign his certificate. The anology is faulty. Its like me teaching aikido at Omega’s dojo and then selling rank to people for Sambo. It still doesn’t make sense. Berto did not do the ranking and did not even have a tape to review.

ahem:

“Your press also sells books on the martial arts of klingon warriors and jedi. Does that mean you personally can certify people in those martial arts?”

I might not be able to post much over the next few weeks due to the storm. i’m going on hurricane duty early tomorrow morning. So wish me luck and I’ll catch you all on the flipside.

Take care, chad and god speed, we’ll keep you in our hearts.
