The Back is a position most people have no problems to figure out how to give a lot of troubles to other peoples, even if they are a little more techninal than themselves.
If you have problems with people more technical than you, then no problems man Just work on the techniques.
If it is not your case then, yes, you have a big problem …
Maybe it is physiologic? Is there something in your physical attributes that stop you to be good from back control?
What i’m thinking about is a terrible lack of flexibility in your knee or hip joints.
In this case you may try other ways to lace your legs around your opponent to control him. Apart the basic double thigh hooks, you can try to have only one hook, and the other foot either fooling around to assure balance (or back control of the other’s knee) or crossing your hooking foot. This one is a good one. Just remember your hooking foot and your chokin’ arm are on the same side.

What the hell?
“Dude! I don’t think you’re flexible enough”’ does not count as technical advice in my book.
