I never liked that statement. It’s unoriginal, and unsubstantiated. Until there’s a successful Communist country, there’s no way to tell if it will work or not. You did say, “It has yet to be successful”, instead of, “It doesn’t work”, though, which is commendable.

I was just thinking that this thread needed some political debate between two of the worst posters on the site.

What is it that makes either of us the worst posters on this site?

Seriously guys you need to start a new thread and let this one die.

I think the very fact that it hasn’t been successful in communist countries throughout history speaks alot. Communist China is starting to come around to the ways of capitalism because they’re starting to see that communism is a failed system.

Be sure to tie your hatred of religion and women into this. We need to cover all bases.

Last chance.

Sure, I will, but that didn’t answer my question.

Everyone but Stalin, who was fat and smelled funny, agreed that Communism had to be a worldwide system, or the Capitalist countries would consume it at the first sign of weakness, like, say, when the state withers away.

LOL. Nice excuse for failure of communism, jesus. Really, I mean, if capitalism ceases to exist, then communism will succeed. Wow, that’s some infallible reasoning… oh wait, I mean unfalsifiable reasoning. You know, if gravity ceases to exist, I can fly like Superman as well.

This thread is finally where it belongs.

You might have had a point if the system didn’t need to be global in order to work.

I did have a point, and it went well over your head. Stalin made an unfalsifiable claim. It’s easy to say that everyone has to agree to it in order for it to work because he damn well knows that everyone will not. It’s like saying that telekinesis will be effective the moment everyone on earth believes in it.

Ironic, considering that that, to be pure Communism, it has to be a worldwide system since that’s part of the system itself.

Your belief in communism is as absurd as religion, it does not rest on evidence and ignores reality. People will always want to compete with each other, communism doesn’t capitalise on this fact.

It’s just a political theory. If I was the leader of a modern country, it wouldn’t be Communist.

People will always want to compete with each other, communism doesn’t capitalise on this fact.

I don’t believe that greed is human nature, but I’m not sure if there’s anything that proves that either way, really.

What the fuck are you, a hippie?!

My hair is long, but I keep it clean.

Back to Communism. I think it’s a good, workable system, I just don’t think the conditions exist for DIE KOMMUNISTICHE REVOLUCION.

I don’t think they exist either. So why be communist?

Because it’s a nice, helpful, system, if it works.

Helpful for whom? Lazy people get to stay lazy and live and own the same stuff that I do? Where is the motivation to not be lazy?

If you don’t work, you don’t get luxuries.
