Lion’s Way Martial Arts (LWMA) with the support of Sea-Town SAMBO is happy to announce that we will be starting a morning SAMBO club this February.
The class will meet 2 days a week on Monday and Thursday from 10am to 12 pm. We will be starting out as a “beginner level class” no matter your skill level or previous experience. The goal is to work and grow together while learning the SAMBO methodologies and putting them into use. The class will run as a “work group” class to Sea-Town SAMBO, so the lessons that are taught there each week will be reflected in our training at Lion’s Way Martial Arts. Also, members from both clubs will be welcome to train at either location as their schedule dictates.
I will be the one running the classes for the most part at LWMA. My name for those that don’t know is Skip Scherer and I am the owner of LWMA. Aaron Fields will be mentoring me as I run the classes and making sure we keep the quality high and he may even stop in from time to time to run a class. I have 4 plus years of BJJ experience, a lot of which was no-gi, officially got my blue and like a lot of blues was working toward my purple when I decided to switch to Aaron as my over all grappling coach, who I have now trained with for well over a year. This class is coming about due to my desire to train SAMBO more and not having the time to get down to Sea-Town SAMBO enough (it’s a long drive folks) so with the help and support of Aaron I am bringing SAMBO to me.
Come by and try it out, the first few weeks are free so you really have nothing to lose.
First class will be Monday February 14, 2010
Monday and Thursday
Morning Classes 10 am to 12 pm
(Once we are up and running we will also try and make open mat time available to those that want some extra training time)
Cost will be $60 per-month
