Sending out a final shout out to the Godfather of Soul!
My Grandfather had a close relationship with James Brown. JB used to play at my gramps nightclubs in south florida. My unlce is named after Bobby Byrd because he helped my Grandma when she went into labor with him. The Godfather will surely be missed.
He was a troubled man, but a fantastic musician and one of the greatest performers ever to take the stage. you always got your money’s worth out of JB. I saw him play foxwoods a few years ago. Awesome show.
The hardest working man in show business finally hung up his hat.
Saw him live at a few bluesfests in Dallas and Houston years ago. He might have been troubled at times, but the man was still putting on one hell of a show long after most of his contemporaries retired. R.I.P.
James Brown isn’t dead I tell you. He just found that one last hot waitress and couldn’t take any more screwing around wit Alimony lawyers, so he faked his death and headed for Rio.
Respect to Mr. Brown…
According to one of the favourite religions on Earth we’ll see him soon in Rell (as you guys like to put it around here), so don’t cry for him.
He needed the rest badly anyhow.
