Ok, out by where I work, there is a new MMA gym. It’s called Lion Mix Martial Arts Center in the city of Lyons, Il.

He claims to teach:

Thai Kickboxing
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Freestyle Ground Grappling
Cage Fighting
Kids Karate
Boxing

Well, I just want to point a couple things out that seems like bullshit.

So this Benny Mandel claims to be an MMA fighter and “Cage Fighting Expert” from Germany. Yet, he doesn’t have an MMA record on Sherdog or Mixedmartialarts.com

On a promotion card, he claims to be part of the World Cage Fighting Federation, an org which I have never heard of or can find.

When I asked one of his students what rank he had in BJJ, his student said black belt. When I asked where his master got it from, he didn’t know.

Also when I talked to his student, he said that next month that he will be a 3rd degree white belt in BJJ. (wtf)

Basically this guy sounds like complete bullshit. He is only a couple miles away from legit BJJ black belt Christian Uflacker, and I don’t know why anyone would choose to train with this fool.

I emailed him about his creds. Hopefully will get an answer soon.

Anyway, I sent him an email asking about his rank in BJJ, his MT training, and about his MMA record.

These guys are such idiots that they think people wont check their credentials.

Im sure he’ll be run out of Buisness by the Legit BJJ Blackbelt. Please post his reply,and his email,I want to ask him the exact same thing,and see if his answer is diffrent then yours. If it is… then hes 10000000000% bullshit,and Ill fly to you,and well both pee on his car

Yeah, I know about that. I said “you’ll be a 3 stripe white belt in a month?” To which he said yes.

Btw the student I talked to just started training there 4 damn days ago, yet Benny said that he will be a 3rd degree white belt next month.

I get to talk to his students. One of them told me that Benny said they would only be cage fighting. (I guess he’s never heard of MMA in a ring). And he told me (btw once again, the student started about 5 days ago) that Benny said he (the student) will go to California, and fight in a cage for money. That means no amateur experience, and will make his white belt students turn pro. WTF.

I’ve done my damn research.

Internet researching and talking to his students.

World Cage Fighting Federation could be a local group, and could be a sublet of a larger group. Ever look at the ages of cage fighters now? They’re about 27 +/- a few years. If your school will sponsor you, some places will put you on a card…nothing says you have to be an amateur to become a pro.

I simply said to do more research before making the “Bullshido” accusation…I’ve been around a minute. And you don’t want that claim to backfire in your face…

I think he’s the new age mc’dojos /like the mr miagis after Krotty Kid/ due to that “Never back down” movie! Also there IS a description of almost all the early UFC fights on the web, like in wikipedia…
