Regarding illnesses, the gay male population does indeed have some of the highest rates of HIV and std transmission of any group.
Guys are often promiscuous by nature, and the demographic of guys that prefer to have sex with other guys are often promiscuous times promiscuous.
A gay male monogamous couple does not have increased rates of STD and HIV transmission.
But the monogamous part seems to be the trouble, and more the exception than the rule, not just for gay males, but indeed with high frequency among gay males.
Couple that with an aversion to condom use, and those gay males that enjoy anal sex which has very high STD transmission, and now you are dealing with simple high potential transmission epidemiology math, with several drivers in play.
So, let’s not deny simple math and simple epidemiology fundamentals, which are confirmed by real world epidemiological results data in the gay male demographic, in the name of political correctness nonsense.

So a couple of things yes HIV/AIDs are still a big problem in the community, to the point where I see HIV/AIDs related billboards in my neighborhood.
However the problem has been explained to me like this. It’s less about the number of partners as that number isn’t actually that much higher on average, but poor safe sex practices. Without the risk of pregnancy, it’s easier to just sucker your self into unsafe sex.
I think most guys know it simply feels better to not wear a rubber. Then you can get into a whole cycle of that do you trust me bullshit.
