Overstaying welcome?

Well done for confronting it, and good luck.

Got here too late, but would have suggested DIRTY PROTEST

well done. Some things just can’t be comfortable if you’re not a sociopath. People wanting to stay over, borrow money you don’t have, or in my case, sing on my mic for a while, while I’m out performing.

You just can’t prevent people thinking you’re a dick, when you thwart their whims, but such is life. No one should let people haggle with their generosity.

How have things gone since then? Is he getting all sulky and mopey?
It was always going to end that way, the sooner you got there the better. Don’t feel bad about it, he was taking the piss out of you.
This is another example of the word friend being used liberally, a friend doesnt take advantage of you so blatantly. Also, I’m having a hard time understanding why you think you’re being a dick in this situation, you haven’t done anything wrong (well apart from letting him stay in the first place.)

I’m still moving in

Kick his ass out. Seriously. It’s not gonna get any easier so it’s best if you just sack up and give him a date to have vacated with all his shit.

Legality shouldn’t be a problem as you’re the master of your own household.
