You know what bothers me about this thread?

How much too many people are so pissed off and annoyed about how bad this makes their own politcal views look in the media.

The facts:

A white supremacist murdered a bunch of people, including a little kid.

There is a radical racism storm brewing and sticking our heads in the collective dirt does nobody any fucking good.

There are elements of our political and media class that are contributing to this madness and every person that pretends it doesn’t exist or plays it down to protect their own fragile feelings is fucking up.

For fuck’s sake, if you don’t want the shitty liberal agenda to win, then start fielding strong anti-racist conservative candidates. Push out the weak fucking links that dog whistle to the racist assholes.

It’s so fucking easy. Reagan did it, GHW Bush did it, GW Bush did it but this Republican party has been compromised to the point where regular citizens would rather fucking pearl clutch their own issues while literally handing the socialists the keys to electoral victory.

Most people are fucking stupid and will do what they’re told by an authority figure accepted by their peers even when part of them suspects that everything about it is completely wrong.

The radical right is propping up the radical left and the rational middle is getting screwed.

The central language should be, to hell with this son of a bitch and let’s put together a national taskforce to police radical racist terrorists and lone wolf killers.

Air it from now to sunset every day and stick to that message the entire time. That’s how conservatives win.

But that’s not what’s happening because the white house and GOP leadership would rather name the Old Navy brigade that is ANTIFA a terrorist group rather than the fucking KKK and the avowed fucking Neo Nazi groups which everybody with a half a brain already hates and has hated since the 30s. Not for national security reasons, but to distract the fucking public for the actual problem of home grown radical racist terrorists.

It’s only a fucking matter of time until the racist orgs graduate from these small mass casaulty attacks to another Oklahoma bombing.

I remember when people talked about Osama bin Laden as the guy that rammed a canoe filled with explosives into the side of an armored hull. That got plenty of air time but not enough to get people to wake the fuck up and dedicate the resources necessary to putting an end to it.

The longer we pretend it’s not a problem, the more likely this is going to bite us all in the ass. These pig fucking white nationalists like Richard Spencer and the rest of the alt-doucebag community don’t give a shit about our mainstream conservative small town values but they’ll fucking pretend they do to get more play in the mainstream media.

Ignore an issue on one side and the other side will be seen as the key to fixing the problem, no matter how wrong that side is.

My head is not in the dirt/sand. I think this is good. We need to get all the assholes out in the open, instead of in hiding. Assholes on both sides of the political spectrum, and that is happening.

People are different. They are different in color, speech, height, weight, background and a thousand other ways. And there is nothing wrong with people being different. It’s also ok to want to be around people that look like you. And it’s fine for people to not want to be around you because you don’t look like them. It’s also ok, to only want to be around people who think like you. Some people however like the opposite. They want variety. They want to learn from differences. That is fine, too.

The problem comes up when you start thinking that one of those is better than the other, just because if the specific color, height, weight, way of thinking. The supremacy.

In my opinion, the only way to fix that is exposure. It is easy to generalize against a population when you don’t know anyone from that population. You can dehumanize a population when you have never had the opportunity to humanize. The best way to do it, is one on one. IMO

But, as long as people don’t want to do it, or care about it, it’s going to be hard. But I don’t think it is as bad as the media makes it out to be. What they show on TV, I don’t see on my streets.
