Ninjas - Cowards or masters in assassination?

Ninja’s are capable of stalking and hunting down unknowing enemies and are also well capable of using ranged weapons. They train and study their skills in extremely secretive guilds, and are often hired by powerful people or sent by the master of their guild himself on dangerous and important missions. Men or mice?

Welcome to Bullshido. On the 19% chance that this is a serious post, please feel free to present evidence of contemporary ninjas doing this. We are more interested here, generally, in how well they fight, since so many seem to be either playing dress up, doing XMA, or use poor, non-alive training methods. General consensus, mice, but we are taking applications for men here. Please leave your name and number after the beep.

You really cannot make a blanket statement on Ninjustu. And for the purpose of this thread when I say Ninjustu I mean Bujinkan too.

In the times of Feudal Japan hundreds of years ago there where many, many families or ‘clans’ of Ninja in both the Iga and koga regions. Not all of them where connected with common intentions. Many where Samuri who used their skills for the purpose of money. The point I’m tryng to make is that its like anything else. Some “Ninja” clans had brave and competant fighters others probably had their fair share of cowards.

My impression is they did what it took to get the job done. Better to end the fight with no mess/no fuss. I’m sure they would rather shoot their enemy from 50 yards away with a bow and arrow instead of brawling with him.

He is speaking in the present tense, so I do not think he means the old glory days of running along rooftops and dripping poison down wires.

In the present tense. Forget about it. Ninja do not exist anymore.

The closest thing that exists are probably Special Forces Units within the Military. Such as the S.A.S, Seals and so forth. Just find a good martial art and train in it.

ninjas are hot

Tew Ryu has already been talked about. How could you guys forget ‘Rick Tew’s College of Martial Science’?

Yeah… I think you misspelled ‘two’ there…

(just kidding)

Good point.

So are you claiming that as a practitioner of Tew Ryu (which is purely Hollywood Ninjutsu, a mix of TKD, capoeira, and whatever other flashy shit they could throw in there), you do all this?

You HAVE to have the XMA stuff in ninjutsu. Yo uneed to know how to do flips in order to flip out and kill people.

If there was such an elite group of professionals operating outside of the government in this country, why would they label themselves with an outdated japanese name? I call BS.

Modern warfare and unconventional warfare have VERY little to do with hand to hand combat these days. Why would a group of secret operatives train mainly in old japanese hand to hand combat techniques that were designed for use against japanese armour? Being an ultra elite 8th degree whatever means exactly diddly squat in the special ops community.

YOU STUDY UNDER RICK TEW!!!
HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAH
HAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA
HAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Actually, Khun Kao has a REALLY good view on what ninjitsu is, hopefully he’ll share his view here.

I don’t like Estonians… Aside from the beets.

Threads like this make me angry. Then again so does about 90% of things out there… I think I need distemper shots…

Ninjas are and were coward.

They were used to almost never face their opponents in a loyal challenge match.

Ninjas:

Many ninja were also samurai, and vice versa. They also fought on the battlefield. So yeah, they did face them face to face on many occasions :angry3:

Taijutsu does have handsprings, flips, and cartwheels in our ukemi but Tew Ryu adds in stuff like au batido, 540 crescent kicks, and all sorts of crazy BS.

540 kicks are awesome. Butterfly twists look really cool too.

gainers look pretty sweet as well
