MTV Final Fu (The forecast call for suck)

Ernie Reyes Jr is apparently hosting a show on MTV to find the “best martial arts style or some crap”. Gee I wonder if XMA beats out Team Paul Mitchell. The potential for suck is incredibly high here.

GG

thought it was going to be on MTV2?

This looks like something fun to keep an eye on. It’s either going to provide plenty of fodder for ridicule, or mainstream audiences might finally come to their senses when they see Muay Thai-ers ripping people a new one

and then… along comes the Muay Thai McDojo for the mainstream viewers who want to be the deadly without the hard work.

I think there was already a thread about this.

IIRC, Sirc auditioned for it.

i can’i seem to find anything on this show. Does anybody know whe it’s coming on?

I can’t seem to find any information on this. Does anytbody know when the show is coming on?

I made a thread about this like 6 months ago or something. They were spamming all the myspace martial arts groups looking for people to audition. The “competition” = point sparring, forms demonstration, breaking, and reality show style challenges.

I’m still curious to see it if only for laughs. Potential for teh suck is very high, I agree.

Uh. I happen to know somebody who is doing the editing for this. He describded it as “a tournament to see who’s the greatest martial artist in the US.” When I replied there was already a little something called the UFC, he replied “this is not a bloodsport, it’s about the ART!”

In that case it sounds like it’s going to blow ass!

But, at any rate. When is it airing?

oh god. there’s a similar show in the UK “ultimate warrior” or something like that. complete with bad steriotypical chinese “master” and craptacular sparring. seriously, this stuff was so weak it made TKD look harcore.
and yet, I can’t not watch. It’s like a car crash.

I believe if I remember they were using myspace to look for people. Its suppose to be point sparring.

Didn’t Sirc say he got a part in it?

Naw he never said if he got a call back or not.

this making me angry.

Of course, its going to breed another batch of commercialised MA mcdojo retards. Think Rocky/Karate Kid followers, except insert martial art style.

Rocky was a great movie…

How can they determine “which is the best style” when rules limit it to point sparring…? BTW, whatever happened to the Chuck Norris thing like this…?

God I hope you are kidding. At least Rocky showed a bunch of hard work…and he still lost in the first movie. Hell, he lost in other movies.

Karate Kid didn’t spar, washed cars, stood on a log, and always lost.

Rocky=hard work doesn’t guarantee a win.
Karate Kid=Larping guarantees a win.

Too bad we weren’t involved in this. It would have been great to get someone on the show and just beat the crap out of the other guy ignoring the point sparring rules.
