So, as you may remember, I used to chill with a girl called “Lucy”. Cool peoples. Met with her a few nights ago. Watched “5th Wave”. GOD DAMN. Top notch paranoia. It gets you ready to shoot people in the head, then you see exactly how bad an idea that is. 10/10.
Lucy was flat-out horrible.
Took my eldest to see Civil War 2 weeks ago. Decent movie. Long as fuck. I personally have no experience with the Marvel universe, so I had no idea what was going on in the overall arc.

I don’t know… I mean, she is high maintenance, and honestly her demand is so high it is getting to pricey to date her anymore. I sure the fuck am not going to take lucy out to see a fucking movie. That would be a total waste of time, especially when your time with her is at a premium.
fucking heathenishtic neanderthals …

Movies with Lucy I enjoy. That’s what I liked about 5th Wave. It’s made for her:

At first it seemed like standard disaster/invasion fare, and then those guys showed up. I personally found myself contemplating the true meaning of war with intense paranoia and fear. The camera angles were excellent, especially at critical scenes. Sometimes I found it dark and murky, which added to the chaotic, effect, but at other times it took me out of it, as I realized I was watching a movie. The speeches were excellent and being given a set of equally shitty, contradictory instructions every half hour or so was excellent.
Also, to about half this thread… WOOSH
Yeah, my hair blew around a bit. Never went with Lucy. Few dates with Mary, but never a movie. Plus, she’s a total whore, now.

I had a crush on a girl named Lucy when I was in grade school. She was a uber-hot curly headed red head with huge green eyes. Her sister, Faith, was hot too.

I prefer to stick to more upbeat things myself. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is great. The bright color pallet is a pleasure to watch on dates with that girl.

That does look good. I don’t mind enjoying media with Lucy. It is just the Theater environment. Too public, too random, too much risk, to really just get into a flic with Lucy. Besides, last time I went to see a movie with Lucy it was a downward spiral fueled by concession stand prices and a full house of yocals.
These days you can have an intimate theater type experience in your own home.

My “friends” dropped Wondershozen on me one night…
Then another night hanging with lucy and a couple of her buddies the same group of people all sat down and watched Grave of the Fireflies. That was … a… strange night.
No word of a lie last time I hung with Lucy I drank half a bottle of wine with my partner then watched Koyaanisqatsi. I kinda bummed out for most of it but when Pruit Igoe came on I shot out of my chair and vomited all over myself. I threw all my clothes in the washing machine along with my phone and credit cards. Needless to say it wasn’t fun trying to find them the next morning.
I’ve never finished Koyaanisqatsi. When I’m altered enough to enjoy it, my attention span is too short.
I have 5 or 6 films I love but are so dry I could never watch them sober, Koyaanisqatsi is definitely one of them.
Daft Punk’s Electroma is another - tried to watch it straight and gave up 15 mins in because it was boring as hell. But once I tried it with a little medicinal intervention everything clicked and it was an emotional rollercoaster. Not sure if that really classifies it as a good film or not.
I got myself some time to watch the Jumanji starring Dwayne Johnson. Just wondering why did they even think about doing this movie. Couldn’t reach the level of the old Jumanji. 4/10.
