The first “massive attack” video with Ms. Annie K is pretty crappy. After a fuckload of yelling, a failed downward elbow strike to the back and a few flailed arms, she gets a hearty round of applause.
My personal favorite is the Ms. Sabrina O video. 2 crappy kicks apiece+not keeping your guard up+cat-fight style punching=lame.
There are more videos in their photo album, but my DSL is acting like a bitch tonight, and I don’t have the interest in sitting around for hours loading crappy mpegs.
To KO’s credit, I don’t know what they charge for these lessons, so I’m not ready to tear them to bits just yet…
I imagine they call it that because no one has heard of BFD, and hopefully, they’ll only rise in infamy, rather than popularity. West Wind does it, too. Outside of their dojo, in HUGE words they have KUNG FU on one side, and KARATE on the other. When I first saw them, I thought maybe they had a variety of different styles and instructors teaching in the same place. But no, they just want a recognizable word to snag passersby.
Well, the first sign of something wrong is the one routine they have marked as “dragonfist” is a bad version of Lin Bo Kune . Which is the FIRST form taught in Northern Shaolin.
Not knowing much about the specific details of CMA, I would LOVE if you could explain a bit more about what you observe in the videos, and what you know to be true CMA…
As a background, BFD is pretty much kenpo, with a lot of fancy Chinese forms tossed in, since the style’s founder had the time and money to go travel through China and collect things. But there’s a reason why Tracy’s Kenpo takes over BFD schools when they have to go out of business but their students still have contracts…
