Yes. He shit all over my Judo experience too, the contact sport I’ve adored for over half my life almost as much as gridiron football. And a legion of trolls joined in, and they’re all gone now.
I turned 49 today, still can’t stay away from the 柔道. Can’t wait to get hurt again, rinse, repeat but now I’m armed with a whole slew of traditional liniments, balms, salves, teas, and jow.
As we all know, it’s all about repetiton in the face of challenge.
Judo is great. Judo is still very studied, probably the most studied martial art worldwide. It’s just lost popularity in a handful of countries where BJJ has boomed. I wouldn’t call any particular method of grappling “King” as in my brain grappling is so segmented that they all are different parts of the same puzzle in my head that specialize, but I’m happy to gush over it in this thread.
Anyone else train with their wrong foot forward because they’re trying to emulate Koga, or is it just me?
Everybody knows American Judo is not very high level, generally speaking, but it must be shit in your area for you to not get raped in shiai by some recreational player.

@DCS I know you’re just trolling him. But my judo teacher beat into us that our club always won because he’s Cuban and not some shitty American teacher. He would go on and on about how Cuban judo is the best judo. I would laugh so hard if I heard he was bitching about one of his students talking shit about him on the internet. He’s a really funny guy. One time he was bitching about how this shodan didn’t show up to class but he saw him on facebook at 2a.m.
Also those motherfuckers at peacock are taking down the olympic judo matches in 2 days. I signed up for peacock again to watch the new jackal movie and I wanted to rewatch the olympics. They should be on their site indefenetily
@DCS I don’t want to derail the thread but I don’t know if my aikido is any good. I could throw the yudansha in my judo class using aikido but it’s just randori it’s not an actual match of any kind. When I used aikido against this 6’5 former olympic competitor I was like wtf that actually worked. But then the next time I went to my tomiki class my instructor corrected the technique I used against the olympian a few days prior.
I visited this Iwama school and the instructor said this was a black belt class and please just watch for today. He said for some reason I couldn’t counter his techniques. Because I’m a dick I showed him I could counter his shihonage and kotegaeshi. He shook my hand afterwards and said good job. @DCS do you think I’m any good yet from what I’ve posted? You have more expereince in aikido than I do.
