Is Aikido is martial art ? yes it is
Is Aikido can be usefull ? a lot of crap school with lazy training system make it un-usefull, If they modified their training system , maybe I guess. But since modified the system is opposed to their original traditional philosophy ( peace, harmony, no-violence, emptyness) They won’t do that. And changing the training system then it cannot be said as Aikido ( they think ,)
