If you want to twist my words fine, go ahead. And I know you will quote this (or other posts), down to a single word if you have to and nitpick something you will use to support “your view” , no matter if it was intentionally in my post or not. Do it, but I think this not going to help anybody or solve anything…
Something for you to consider though. (And I am not necessarily talking about the op)
You can be a good player in what ever sport/MA and yet lack the ability to teach.
You can have the knowledge and good intentions and yet lack the methodology of bringing those across
You can be teaching for years and yet not be a good teacher
I am not saying any of this fits the op, but it might! I don’t know the op and I think almost nobody here does, so we just can assume.
So now try to put aside your opinion you formed so far, just walk with me here and look at it.
The op, is teaching and has experience there (teaching a given curriculum) but he is going to do something new, something he hasn’t done so far(giving a private) and feels a little insecure/unsure about doing it. (Otherwise he would not ask for help, right?)
Okay since I have never seen him teach and don’t know what he knows about teaching and this thread will be read by others too, I give my suggestion, for him (to maybe just visualize what he knows, re insure him in his doing, add a tiny detail or just put in some “different point of view” since I have a different background) and for others(who might one day will use this or dismiss it because they know better), to hock onto or what ever they like to do with it.
There is no arrogance involved in this, none whatsoever and I was on topic with my post, despite the fact that it was not “grappling only” or “grappling specific”.
Like I said mister arrogant, here you go telling someone how to teach while trying to say you aren’t. You are also assuming he doesn’t know how to teach yet, here comes super grappler who will give advice to anyone.
Twist your words? I wasn’t the first one to say you are arrogant so uhhmm yeah.
You can be a good player in what ever sport/MA and yet lack the ability to teach.
What the hell does this even mean? This has nothing to do with the OP.
Hahahahahahahahaha yet he is good enough to run the school, by himself, when his instructor is gone. STFU.
