Well, I think i’ve landed a gig with a local male dancer club. I’ve got 24 hours to learn how to dance naked and acquire some kind of cute underwear. Anyone done this before? Or seen male dancers before? Have any tips?

Hedgey, I just spoke to a friend who was a former stripper and he said to speak to the other guys you’d be performing with (or are you doing a solo act?) and get some tips. My friend used to dance on cruise ships so its a slightly different scenario.
Smile with your teeth showing, don’t make too much eye contact in your initial few dances and try to mentally be somewhere else (don’t ask me, this is what he said!) but be ‘in the moment’ physically.
You must already have the confidence to ‘perform’ so I think you’ll do fine.
Whip up a new outfit from your cosplay stuff.
I know you won’t bring MA into it in any way whatsoever.
Halfway through the first dance, just start crying and get naked.
That party boy dude in the video looks suspiciously like Omega…

I’ve found I get a lot of response with the move “underwear shorts,” which basically involves yanking up the sides of your shorts* to create a kind of impromptu wrinkly, bulging cloth bikini while kicking your legs up and out like an old-timey gold-rush miner and singing, “UNDERWEAR! SHORTS! UNDERWEAR! SHORTS!”
Also, while my co-workers probably don’t provide a close analogue to your projected clientele, they do like it when I do Figure 8 Butt:
- Legs spread shoulder-width (uh, standing)
- Bend knees slightly
- Lean over, place hands on knees
- Swivel and shimmy around and draw figure 8s in the air with your butt
*Using actual underwear, especially boxers or boxer-briefs, is surprisingly effective, despite presenting a logical conundrum.
