I think Harp was created to get more women drinking their products.
I don’t tend to think of Guinness as a stout or even a beer. It’s tastes very different from other stouts. It’s just Guinness. I like it, but I’m not a fanatic and don’t drink it all the time.
Guinness is the quintessential stout. It is fashionable to hate it because it’s very “establishment” beer.
I hate it because I don’t like the taste. I didn’t know it was “fashionable”.
I don’t like Labatt Guinness and I don’t like real Guinness…I just don’t like Guinness, period. I would rather drink Lucky Lager.

Harp = alright (Not great) & not really easy to find here in Dublin Ireland because there’s so many other good largers on the market … will be + repping for the knowledge that guinness started brewing it furdaladies back in the day.
Smithwicks = also good , also made by Guinness.
Best place to consume … Dublin obviously
If that’s not an option … guinness draft (in can or bottle) is a lovely - If oxymoronic - substitute.
