Collar chokes. Sounds to simple to be true, but that will back him off and let you get your game going. Also switch to an open guard. It’s easier to control the hips in closed guard. Open guard will force him to actually do jiu-jitsu with you.

Welcome to Bullshido. I realize you’re new so I’ll explain why I moved your post.
While your post is perfectly acceptable for the Basic Training forum, it’s too vague for the Advanced Grappling forum. If you had put up a video or textually described an entry to a choke you favor, then that would have sufficient enough to remain in AdGrap.
Here is the stickie that describes the posting guidelines for the AdGrap forum: http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=76402
Please read it before posting in that forum again.

Where can I look up past IBJJF tournament brackets for specific divisions?
I know where to find results, but does anyone know what they do with the brackets after the event takes place? I would like to look some older brackets up for a project I’m working on.
- I think this is the wrong forum and JNP will move this thread.
- Have you Tried contacting the IBJJF directly?
- From the big tournaments that I have seen… They have an initial grid and then it is all pencil if at all… so you might get the initial set up but I guess you will be hard pressed to see something complete.
Joker, I previously asked you to read this stickie, http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=76402
before posting in the Advanced Grappling forum again.
Here is the link to my request: http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=120217
On the off chance you missed it the first time, I’m repeating myself. That forum is for specific discussions about technique. General questions like yours belong in the general forum, YMAS (Your Martial Art Sucks).
Now that I have asked you nicely twice, please understand that I expect you to read the thread/stickie linked above in this post and follow the rules from here on out. Failure to do so will result in infractions which can eventually add up enough for a ban.
