wtf? you actually think it went down like that, lame dude…lame…
It did. Not exactly like the movie, but the spartans were some of the greatest pre-industrial age warriors ever.
I read a review that called “300” “gay porn for homophobes”.
Some reviewers are naturally hostile to movies like 300. Themes like fighting for glory and a set of ideals, honor if you will, is repellant to them. Braveheart had similar shots taken at it. There are others but I can’t think ofany offhand. If the movie “Starship Troopers” had been true to the novel, it would have experienced similar slams also.
This… is… SPARTA!!
last one, i promise…
One year on, I can proudly say that I have yet to see this movie.
Watch it, Lils… if only for the dudity.
It better not be a tear jerker. I’ve been meaning to watch it Sochin but never seem to find the time to.
Time? It’s not bloody Lord Of The Rings 15 day extended cut. No, you can quite comfortably watch it in a couple of hours (fast forward through the pointless plot bits, you might not want to watch the sexi tiem bits either).
Men. Six packs. Sweat. Mini-loincloths. Battle. Moar battle. SPARTAAAAAA!!!
And some stuff about honour, courage, nobility and shit.
Srsly, you watch this and I’ll cut pizza out of my diet for a whole [strike]year[/strike] [strike]month[/strike] [strike]fortnight[/strike] week.
You’re on. Do I need to write a report on it?
Yes, accompanied by pics plz. Glitternoodz will suffice.
I think they were pointing out the fact that the images are of the Spartans were bunch of buffed guys all glistened up, enhanced (and despite the 300 workout articles) and 'roided up but that the enemy was a bunch of “boy lovers”.
Perhaps, but I suspect the source of the reviewer looking for this imagery and focusing on it comes from the modern intellectuals’ disdain for fighting and fighing culture, and any movie that does not support their world view on fighting. The fact remains that 2 millenia later people still tell stories of the 300 spartans and their badassery (hence this thread) and that alone pisses some people off (in a snobby intellectual way of course). If there was a 301st Spartan that was a Conscientious Objector Spartan, nobody knows about it and truthfully no one would care.
