Great research TNK. I agree with Sam that it is not likely to be helpful approaching Berto, we are more likely to be confused rather than get to the bottom. But all the same it looks like Winter Haven is very likely to be his neck of the woods.
Re trying to trace Dojo Press Inc. It says “Inc” on the company profile section of the main dojopress website yet it sure as hell isn’t incorporated in Florida. There are some companies called Yusana (sp?) but none look to be his mysterious Yusana (black belt) international (sp?). This is quite worrying, maybe he’s a business fraud in the convential sense as well. I’ll keep looking to find where he’s incorporated and hense who the company officials are.

Many a true word said in jest. If Ashida’s companies aren’t incorporated nor LLPs etc, then how is he accounting for the tax on his profit (we call it corporation tax over here)? We all hate paying our taxes, but when you give $55 to a McNinja you’d hope that at least some of it goes into schools, wars, election campaigns etc.
there are several alternatives. The first is that he is totally unincorporated which is legal to do, but it would probably interfer with him receiving certain tax breaks.
If I were him I would have a totally separate corporation that had a non-martial arts name and he would be an officer of this corporation under his real name. So the question is whether one can search the florida corporation records using the names of individual officers. That might be the most productive step.

I looked through the corporation records of FL and the closed I could find was an “R W Davis” listed as an officer in some coporation. But the city listed was Winter Park FL, but not Winter Haven. They are near by. Could this be him? Shall I post?

Today, 6-9-2005, I talked to Sheila Conroy of Paladin Press. She is the wife of Peder Lund who owns Paladin. She confirmed that Chris Hunter and Ashida Kim was the same person and they sent his checks to Florida under the name of Radford Davis.
I’d like to thank Asshida for putting Peder on his published shit list therefore giving me the leverage and Mr. Lund the motivation to confirm Asshita’s real name.
I sent an e-mail to Anthony, Evil Asia, Gringo Grande, Darkson, Deluxe247, Rob Kahn, and Vargas asking if they would be willing to go to Winter Haven to get a visual confirmation on Davis = Hunter’s picture. This is a pain in the ass but, reporters are lazy and we will need to do their work for them.

You might want to copy that passage and send it to Mr. Mantis, I have no idea. btw Anthony said that he doesn’t have time but he can kick in $200 for a PI. I can kick in $50 to $100.
What we’re looking for is a picture of Davis which matches with the pictures of ‘Chris Hunter’ that are out there. If the PI picked up the garbage early and found that there was mail sent to dojo press in davis’s trash that would also solidify the ID, what do people think?

For $69 we could do an online “background check” through www.zabasearch.com and another idea someone suggested was doing a PO Box check. I found a few sites which let you do it but they generally want the name as well as the PO box # -which I thought was odd.
Re the copyright#. I keep trying to trace it through the copyright gov site -no trace. It’s not even in a recognised format.
a p.o. box search would be worth it, i will start trying to find a reliable PI in winterhaven florida who will agree to a capped price of $250 to $300.
