Today, October 13, 2005 I called the Polk County Florida Clerk of Courts at 863-534-4488 after discovering a link on Wikipedia to their website from the Ashida Kim entry. Basically Wikipedia confirmed Ashida’s identity by finding a 1998 Small Claims case (1998SC-000485-000-WH) in which one Radford W. Davis sued Ethan Ellenberg, Peder Lund, and Paladin Press. Since Ashida formally complained quite bitterly on his “shit list” about Ellenberg and Lund stealing his book proceeds this is strong evidence that Kim and Davis are the same. This case had however been dismissed for lack of prosecution so the clerk told me that they had since destroyed this file. Had an award been entered they would have simply saved one page recording the amount of judgment. Ellenburg and Lund may retain copies of this record.
I also discovered another case (1996SC-000062-0000-WH) in which Davis sued Doug Call, of Downeast Investigative Services and won a judgement against them. The judgement sheet would probably contain Call’s last known address, and how much Davis was awarded. If Call could be located he might know some details about Davis.
Finally Radford sued Ann, Larry, and Roy Morrison in 1983 (1983SC-000837-0000-WH) in 1983 in an action that was since dismissed.
why do I mention this? I’m currently occupied with Bannon and Webre, but if someone wanted to do more work on Davis, the opportunity is there.
I just talked to William Augliar of the BDFS, he told me that a particular AP writer had called him for comment before his cease and desist letter went out. Evidently the guys editor spiked the story, but Augliar was giving him another heads up to see if the article could be shaken lose.
what cease and desist letter are you speaking of?
Good stuff mate. Sure some people don’t understand, don’t take it to heart. That’s the cool thing about Bullshido -u can say what you think to eachother without really putting people’s backs up. He’ll come to realise in retrospect.
How’s the financial situation re the $55? I’m still conscious of the fact you put yourself out, and out of pocket.
Re the article. I’m intending to do a publishable mini fantasy warrior cartoon to make it more marketable.
I’m snowed under at work and have a fantasy warrior and bareknuckle-boxing article to finish ASAP for the mag in my ‘me’ time. I might be able to rejig the articles so that this one comes first.

I’m trying to get back in touch with AikidoGirl. She peviously told me by PM that SK had awarded her an Aikido BB because her club wouldn’t -not sure all the circumstances. Anyway, she showed signs back thenm of turning double. So I arranged for a message to be posted on his site asking her to contact me. AK’s amusing response. I laughed my tits off:
