Despite martial arts, ban on smoking in clubs still good

Anyone remember that FMA dude that stabbed a bouncer in the leg for hastling his friend?

Exerpt:

Bar owners and pub crawlers both are coming to grips (in varying degrees of delight and irritation) with the fact that sooner or later Philly will become a smoke-free bar and restaurant town.

It helps, of course, that New York City took the punch first. The cheery picture that’s emerged from New York-excluding the East Village bouncer fatally stabbed in the groin for enforcing the ban to a martial arts knife fighter-is of owners sheepishly admitting that business has continued as usual while even hardcore smokers have learned to appreciate the benefits that come from not reeking of smoke after a night of boozing. Many customers have even embraced the social atmosphere of the chilly plastic-draped outdoor “butt huts” that emerged in the ban’s aftermath.

But many Philadelphia bar owners remain skeptical.

Hah, I love the new smoke free bars and clubs round where I live.

I thought the bouncer was choking his friend for smoking? (The Atienza Kali guy who cut the bouncer)

The bars around here are a lot cleaner too, its a lot nicer going home smelling like booze not smoke. I notice that a lot of guys still smoke in the bathroom though.

Nah, it seems to be around here outside in the cold is a great place for people to socialize and kill themselves.

And pretty soon no talking or drinking in bars.
It should be the establisments option of wether or not to allow smoking.
If you don’t like it, don’t go.
