There’s obviously tons of frauds out there, but does this automatically mean every single case is a fraud?
I’m still on the fence regarding my view on John Chang (Kostas Danaos written a book about him in ‘The Magus of Java’ and a rare footage of him can be found in a video documentary ‘Ring of Fire: East of Krakatoa’).
The first video is a chi demo by Chang’s student. The second video was already posted in the forum but will give a brief intro for those unfamiliar with John Chang.
One reason why I’m on the fence is that Chang doesn’t seem to be interested in money. For example he’s only ever accepted 5 western students, and refuses to accept anymore. Also he’s not selling any products or asking for any money unlike other so called “Masters.”
Interesting, I would like to see him act in a controlled environment under objective observation. How does he say it works?
What does the meditation do to the body? The fire starting is incredible - if it isn’t a fraud. If the “old wisdom” is vanishing, then what good does this do anyone? If the only difference is training and “waking,” then why not teach others so the old wisdom doesn’t go away?
Getting the “experts” requires that their credentials be listed. Why hasn’t the physicist mentioned this in a peer-reviewed journal?
If it isn’t electricity, then why does it do the same thing as electricity (lighting LEDs, for example, or giving people “shocks”)?
Lastly, the bottle thing at the end was pointless to add - it’s a party trick and I’ve done it plenty of times.

According to The Magus of Java: Teachings of an Authentic Taoist Immortal and Nei Kung: The Secret Teachings of the Warrior Sages , John Chang owns a considerable export/trucking concern and is independently wealthy.
