Calling out Dr.Gonzo
YMAS, actually. The aptly titled “(redacted) of Florida is a jerk” thread. Foreshadowing and then some.

One of Goodlun’s best threads before he vanished chasing intern tail on science vessel off San Diego. Ok that last bit is just a theory but it fits the facts.
Put your personal shit beef aside. You’re better than this.
Put your personal shit beef aside. You’re better than this.
I consider this a new day.

I will not be the one to break the peace.
How about those papers you had published? I would very much like to read them. If they exist at all.
I’ve read over 200+ pages of his work. In fact I’ve probably vetted (him) further than anyone else here, for reasons well outside of the physical martial arts.

Trust me, you very much don’t want to read his work.

But if you really want, I can summarize it all for you in probably under 3 pages.

Your move, Westside.

Bullshido is a strange technology artifact that I still do not understand.

Sub mentioned to me the other day that it was a community,

and the way he said it,

I realized that I still do not really understand it, as he sees it.

And…I understand that there are spirits here that helped shape it, and see it in ways I do not.

I was doing my fight against Bullshido as a participant in accepting those who wanted to experience the Gracie Challenge in the nineties, before this site coined the term Bullshido.

But, I understand that there is a separate history of this site, and that I have only been here for a few years.

In any case, I enjoy the phenomenon of the Bullshido community, and despite the fact that I do like Chaos, and creative destruction, that I hope the spirit of the thing continues, thrives, and like a Phoenix continues to reincarnate.
Curious. Redaction? Why?

Talking shit again one must presume. Or, God forbid, was wrong and realized upon reflection. A first!
Effective immediately, doxxing of a member in good standing will be redacted by me upon request by the member, or by a decision made at the staff level.

Since this is a policy that I just kinda sorta made up just now (we’ve had an unwritten version of this in place for many years, mind you), it is open for discussion, more or less.

As with tags, and with MABS, staff is usually willing to do vetting at a third-party level without bringing names or PII into the light. Since most of staff is military/LEO in some capacity (past or present), we’re generally schooled on handling secrets.

And, yes, I realize the mountain of work I just volunteered for. Never Again Volunteer Yourself, that’s what they said in boot camp. Sigh.
Trust me, you very much don’t want to read his work.
In fairness, I advised you against wasting time reading my dissertation unless you were interested in pursuing a 3 essay case research format dissertation,

or reading a dissertation where some of the essays were written by the doctoral student as a paid industry or government consultant, rather than a non-paid purely academic researcher, which was the case for 2 out of the 3 of my dissertation essays.
Fuck around and find out, pussy.
You must sense that my penis is bigger and wider than yours.

Not only that, I have the sexual stamina of a Belgian horse, much of that was developed over years of Daoist training.

The Daoist afficionados here know exactly what I mean.

Who’s getting doxed? We’re not even using real names here.

Good lord. If I wanted to vet something with the Sarasota P.D. I could call them myself.

Just like I could have started a thread outside of YMAS if it was like that in the first place.
What? That he’s a jerk?

Your take. As someone feeling the results of of a lifetime of early sports, including but not limited to martial sports (thanks to motocross), it is good to be concerned about injury. Look at little league football and repeated concussions.

Please bite. Cause is a passion from a product development perspective of a past project.
Actually if you read the thread I posted you’ll see how I instantly came to like the idiot in question and supported and defended his petition on Bullshido.

I’m pretty sure I even signed it, but I honestly don’t remember. I know I intended to.
Put your personal shit beef aside. You’re better than this.
I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.

You might need an MRI.

Up-repped just for going there, tuna can.

Yeah but I research Evil ISIs and I needed some sort of baseline.

You won that lotto, partly because the pool is so small, and partly because of my raging hard on for jiujitsu.

This is less about you than you are intimating, but it’s for your benefit and for the benefit of all members. I was not calling you out specifically, and please don’t make me have to do so.

Well…I guess by knowing his RL name, and never forgetting anything I read ever, I kinda sorta broke Sub’s on field call by posting that ancient thread that referred to him as such.

I’m my defense, Dr G’s original name was his real one, and I think it was my effort that convinced him to change it for his own good. So, best to respect the wishes of the glorious dead avatars of the past.

One of my greatest works, if I do say so myself.

And since I have the pleasure of having my own Trollshido thread, I’ll express myself:

There are big problems with academia, and academic research…Bullshido grade problems.

I participate through strange circumstance.

I got diagnosed with Leukemia, and used the time going through chemotherapy to go to graduate school and pick up a Ph.D.

It was otherwise a somewhat bleak time.

I was told my chances for survival weren’t good, my chances of brain damage were high, yadda yadda yadda.

It was a prison of sorts, I chose games and challenges to help pass the time.

Also, my uncle the plumber, a man very dear to me, a second father in fact, to me and many others,

advised me to always be enrolled in a class.

So, even now, I have started a new masters program.

And will continue this practice until I die.

But, academia leaves a lot to be desired from an education or research stand point.

It is NOT the only way to do things, either education, or research.

And often not the best way.

I changed my screen name to pay an homage to Hunter Thompson.

I don’t need to tell you that the man stood for a rejection of political correctness,

a rejection of institutional group think,

and the defense of journalistic weirdness in the pursuit of the truth,

because the truth is we are a strange, weird species.

All the while, rejecting journalistic institutional pressures to tell the lies that keep the worst parts of the system justified in the public eye.

I have never known a time where Gonzo Journalism was a more acceptable alternative to journalism by the bottom line corporate or political party or institutional numbers.

In short order, I will select another screen name.

But, I will wait for guidance on same from my own animal spirits, and probably a generous amount of alcohol.

We’ve all been complacent, in the past, and on these forums specifically. Yourself included. That’s why I’m allowing for retroactive requests. Now, understand that Grandma Google never forgets, that fucking elephant, but at least it will come down to he-said-she-said prima facie (I’m not going to legal that shit further, let the lawyers handle it). But, low surface exposure has always been the best policy, and will continue to be in our newly reheated political environment.

I knew your name wasn’t really Dr. Gonzo! SCARAMOUCHE!

Come on guys. Ain’t nobody getting harassed IRL here. Not by me anyways. That crosses really specific legal and ethical lines. Not to mention it’s just plain gauche.

No I mean it. I spent over a year on a secret mission to plant the idea in your head that naming your account according to first name, last name, and terminal degree was not a great idea for many reasons.

I know you’re woefully untrained in Ninja III. But did you miss Inception too?

Even the HST idea was mine. You practically changed from yourself into Wood Rabbit overnight.

I saw it.

It was interesting.
