A ninja bitch kick.
I learned this in TKD as a lad
we called it a feint
Here is a good rule of thumb. Hitting people with your foot/shin area is kicking.
Different styles, different names, pretty much the same kick. We basically call it a “snap/wheel” because you’re combining a snap kick with a wheel kick. Great way to draw an opponents focus down as you plant a foot in the side of his head. I know it has TKD origins but I’m not sure where else it may have developed independently.
Wait, slow down, I can’t keep up with all this high-brow technical stuff…:toothy3:
Was that applied specifically to this kick, or any fake/feint move?
We always called the fake low-to-high roundhouse “roundhouse feint”.
fo’ reals? Always thought it was from freestyle karate/kickboxing from the 80’s.
It’s a tkd kick, just as powerfull as a tkd roundhouse kick with the frontleg ( not as powerfull as with the backleg, but faster). Remember that TKDs always stand sideways to an opponent. It’s mostly usted in combination with a jumped behindkick as the finishing kick.
i dunno, i saw my mt instructor (eddie de nobrega) use it a lot. and it looked fucking serious!
It’s been around a lot longer than that. It’s been in our system since the late '60s and came from TKD. Prior to that, I don’t have a clue. I suck at not biting on the feint.
Omega, unless you always ask for an adhesive bandage, cola or other generic names, then its a Brazilian Kick.
BTW the armbars you use in Sambo are known as juji-gatame.
No, I refuse to let this shit go. Many systems did this kick ages before it was coined the Brazilian Kick. Call it a whipping roundhouse for all I care but I’ll be damned if I’m going to let this thing be called a Brazilian Kick. They all ready have gayed up half the decent techniques up there like Omapolata, Gogopolata, Kimura, and Upa. And if you want to be technical the armars I know in sambo are extended armbars not juji-gatame. If I was doing Judo then I’d use the term. And yes I use adhesive bandage, cola, and hook and loop. So kiss my ass.
You are all sheep.
Whats hook and loop?
Velcro…:pancakebu
Inverted Ax Kick.
Losers.
wtf newb
Excuse me, did you just call me a n00b?
How the fuck else do you pronounce it!?
Car-ah-OK.
T3h Brazilian feint!!1!
Everything cool is Brazilian. I’m going to develop Brazilian Aikido: Burn the hakama, speedo FTW!!!
In Han Mu Do we call that kick dollio apchagi (I think I’ve spelt it right), it means Front Roundhouse kick, I like it alot as if you do it right your opponent won’t be expecting it.
Social-misfit,
Dollyo apchagi means turning front kick, not front round house kick.
