Nicko1 speaks for me.
Mostly arbitrarily decided, partly because I don’t like bdang on a personal level. We went to school you see, He knows me quite well.
Bdang…
…Look behind you.
Letting your bf speak for you, thats nice of you. Please, lets not kid ourselves - you never went to school.
Is BDang a sock puppet of Last_Samurai? He loved to call people morons whenever they showed how flawed his thinking was. He would constantly make outlandish statements and when called on them try and back peddle and insist we were stupid for not understanding him.
Howdy all…first post
Bdang…
which instructor are you training with?

He shouldn’t be too hard to find; just look for the guy with enormous hands.
enormous blood filled hands as weapons LOL !
just want to say that all you guys opinions are based on Bdang’s theory of yang mian, but i’m sorry Bdang your understanding of the system is completely wrong, i don’t know where you got your facts from?
Bdang who is your instructor dude?

Er - where did I say anything about enormous blood filled hands as weapons? I said there was an exercise that filled your hands with blood which helps open up the capilliaries to let more blood flow in.
Master Yang is my instructor.
First up, Bdang is a moron. Secondly, I was under the impression that muscle fibers can change type but not in very significant quantity. Even this (the change being insignificant) is subject to debate. For what it’s worth here is a fairly recent article dealing with the issue.: http://sportsmedicine.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=sportsmedicine&cdn=health&tm=21&gps=601_645_1676_849&f=00&su=p284.9.336.ip_p736.8.336.ip_&tt=2&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//www.the-aps.org/publications/classics/articles/ingalls.pdf
EDIT: a relevant quote from towards the end is
"Today, it is generally accepted that exercise training can promote changes within the population of fast-twitch fibers (i.e., type IIb to IIa) and to a lesser extent changes from fast- to slowtwitch fibers."
Bdang…i was just messing with you, i can tell you don’t quite understand what it’s all about yet
i know exactly what yang mian system is…i started learning it almost 10 yrs ago
just stick with it, i had my doubts early on too, but keep going. and don’t let anyone tell you other wise…
it won’t dammage your body, muscles or whatever as some of the guys are trying to suggest.
you will learn how to hit faster, harder, and have a stronger body than any normal person can comprehend.
Master Yang is a great teacher, i have not trained with him personally, but i know of him well.
the system can also be incorporated into other styles, kick boxing, karate, or even sports.
hope this clears the air a little…

Thanks for that.
I know how good the system is because I’ve seen some of the crazy things that the other guys can do, not to mention master yang can do. Although some of the things he does I do not agree with because of its lack of effectiveness, the training he has been giving and the effects of it is out of this world.
I wanted to see whether anyone on this forum actually knew anything besides the contemporary training methods such as cardio and weights - obviously not.
I’m curious to see which part of my understanding is incorrect, I stated:
But it seems like everyone that reads the posting thinks:
Seriously. Big muscles move faster. All those giant bulging things on the guys who lift weights? Those are made up of fast-twitch fiber. That’s what grows on the micro-tears on skeletal muscle when you lift heavy things a lot.
And another one from Kuma in relation to strengthening tendons and joints:
You can’t built these. You can either A: wear them down or B: preserve them. Guess which one exercise does?
You’re talking about bursting capillary walls on impact, leading to hemorrhage and edema a big fucking purple hand so swollen you couldn’t even MAKE a fist. Ever had a bee sting on your hand? Ever seen one? You can’t just dump excess fluid into a part of your body and not expect consequences.
So becareful, if you start twirling your arms around - you might get a hemorrhage.
Here is MrGalt’s understanding:
So if I follow this correctly, bdang believes that…
The only one that MrGalt got correctly was number 5. Well done MrGalt, 1 out of 6 is not bad.
Oh yeah I don’t get to use the internet as often as I like, mostly on weekends so if I don’t respond - u know why.
Bdang…
you don’t need anyone’s approval or opinion…you already know it’s good…
…now just bloody train.
Bdang…
you need people’s approval or you wouldn’t have started this thread…you know your martial art sucks…
…now just bloody train boxing.
Fixed.
Fixed…
PS…you can not compare boxing with kung-fu, only a thickhead would do that, they both have a different purpose and completely different origins…
open your mind
When you’re fisting your boyfriend up the arse does he get you to fill your hands with blood to make them extra big and hard?
EDIT: Your martial art sucks.
YouTube - Yang Mian System - Elbow Free movement
That I’ll agree with. Boxing is about learning to fight, Yang Mian is about waving your arms around like you’re being attacked by bees while deluding yourself that you’re learning to fight.
What is it with shitty martial arts and takedown defences against people who cleary don’t have a fucking clue how to take someone down? (I have a better shoot than that, and that’s very heavy condemnation.) Is there some sort of club requirement—you can’t get into the International Super-Soke (15th dan) Grandmaster Hall of International Martial Arts Fame unless you teach a non-functional takedown defence? They’re allergic to sprawls?
In my experience it’s very easy to stop a takedown when the other guy stops moving as soon as he touches you. I prefer the humiliating ‘tie his shoe laces together then walk away’ defence.
