Wing Tsun effectiveness

I will refer to all the different spellings as _ing _un to avoid confusion of all the different branches. I am refering to _ing _un as a whole.

A lot of people think _ing _un is not effective in a real fight. But they forget that this is Bruce Lee’s style and the foundation of JKD and MMA.

I would like to share a dramatic video of _ing _un master Emin Boztepe performing Chi Sao. He can deliver a strike at anytime that goes right through your defenses. It really is amazing. It’s not like boxing’s inaccurate street punching where you go 45 minutes without anyone getting hurt. You can see him use the 1 knuckle punch at the end of the video. This focuses all the power on a single point which can penetrate a human skull.

YouTube- Superb Wing Tsun Chi Sao demonstration

With all the slapping and grinning at each other, I thought they were going to start sloppily kissing each other before the end.

This has done nothing to make me think Wing Chun is more effective. It actually did the opposite.

Boxers wear gloves, by the way.

Can all the ing ung people PLEASE collectively go and die in a fire, PLEASE!?!?!?!

Alright I think everybody here has had enough ing un threads man…

im pretty sure real fights dont look like that…

If only every attacker fought by pushing their forearms against your chest.

This video is actually a decent drill of sticking hands (chi sao) with aliveness.

This is the kind of Ving Tsun training that scares haters into remembering some Ving Tsun students can actually hurt you badly with Ving Tsun .

Forearms are effective in real fights and can neutralize the BBJ guard. The wing chun fighter can simply put their fore-arm on your throat, totally immobilize the BBJ guard.

Here is a video of a wing chun forearm in action:

Now before you all go saying they are both wing chun guys simulating fights against other styles… that is a real BBJ fighter.

Wow you will? You thought you might fool some noobs into thinking you created that use of spelling?

No. I’m just using the standard convention to avoid confusion. I wanted to explain what the underscores represented. I wasn’t claiming I invented the notation.

And as you can see it is needed. Already there some guy typing “Ving Tsun” in bold text, and implying it is superior to other branches of _ing _un. This is what I was trying to avoid.

The Thing that was used before you and I ever joined needs explanation…that’s why your tag will never go away.

VING TSUN is the Romanized form of the words. It is not a branch of Wing Chun. It is the same two words.

Kikkodude, are you really this stupid?

Mr. Rabbit, please stop before you too earn a special tag.

:XXbunny:

Is there a tag for using ten point fonts in Sheerdog?

I don’t understand why this was trollshido’d. This guy brought something totally new and original to the table. I, for one, didn’t know that bruce lee did wing chun, or that it was the basis of jkd. And I am glad to know that I can do boxing and not get hurt, something I wasn’t aware of until I read this thread. Also, I am going to engage my next opponent in a chi sao drill Like the one shown and beat the shit out of them, they’ll never know what happened.

If you can’t tell I was being sarcastic. Also, rabbit, stfu, your pearls of wisdom are really just pellets of shit.

Why is the Moon smashing into the Earth in your avatar the same size as the Earth? Artists and science…oh well.

I keep telling you wiki is not your friend for Martial Arts. There is more to the spellings than you think.

I didn’t know Ving Tsun was a distinct branch of Wing Chun. I didn’t even get that from the wiki, I thought VT was just an alternate spelling for years, since they are everywhere in gong fu.

What makes you think the planet in my avatar is earth? Obviously you didn’t pay much attention to geography because there is no correlating land configuration to even suggest it is our planet. It is just two planets colliding, an artists interpretation of a cosmic event that was observed by scientists around the end of last year. You are a fucking moron.
