Who would in a fight between a medieval knight and a Samurai from the old times

Medieval knights and samurai’s have never met, I was wondering on wich one would win in a fight (using thier own blade) Samurai usng his katana vs Knight using his broadsword or what ever else weapons they used.

To answer your question, I belive it would be the Knight. more robust sword (I imagine) and more durable armour.
Im assuming by Knight you mean a man armed with a longsword and armoured in a full plate harness.

So back in the day, when I was part of the WotC Dungeons and Dragons forum, someone would pose this question every month or so.

Well does the knight get his armored horse? They are basically heavy cavalry.
Cavalry > Foot
ergo
Knight > Samurai

All dead people are pretty evenly matched so this would be too close to call.

Knight. Better lances, better bows, better swords, better horses, more practice, bigger men.

(yes the katana is a beautiful, elegant weapon, but it’s a pulling blade, for duels and coup de gras, it’s not a battlefield sidearm)

Also, the samurai’s arms would be roughly familiar to the knight, but the shield and play on the ricasso (half-swording, etc) in particular would be pretty alien to the samurai

How about the knight has to use the samurais armor and weapons, and the samurai has to use the knights armor and weapons.

Then who would win?

Or give them both guns, and see who would blow themselves up first.
