Don’t know about “white supremacists”, but I have met what appears to be a disproportionate number of racists doing MMA and BJJ. There’s even a school close to where I used to live with a rep for being a “no niggers” kind of place.

True, though, that they were enormously stupid to remove the one thing that set their ‘race’ apart visually, a while back. Being white-skinned–hell, there are northeast Asians whose skin is far whiter than any European’s (I’m married to one). The blue-eyed thing, well okay, if you want to get close enough to a WS to smell his lack of hygiene, you’ll see that.
But the one feature that sets nordic types apart visually from a distance is their blond or red hair. And what did racist-skins do? Shave it off. Only one reason I can think of: maybe they weren’t as hitlerjungen pure-looking as they wished. As I recall from newsclips, there’s a lot of dark hair, dark eyes and monobrows among the WS crowd. The kinda stuff that goes with names like “Costa”.

There are white supremists that shave their heads and have swazstikas tattooed on their face, and their are corporate-type white supremists. How is anyone surprised that a militant para military bunch of wanna bes that worship violence and hate would like a violent sport? I mean, it is violent, and there are a lot of white guys in it- so why wouldn’t they like it. It probably burns their ass that boxing and football are dominated by people of color, and most white guys that get in it these days just don’t get that far, with a few exceptions.
The thing I find funny is the whole “oh, don’t besmirch my nice clean sport of MMA”. It’s just a commercial venture too make money. If it suddenly made twice as much money, and only skinheads went to it, do you think Dana White would stop, shut it down, and said “we’ve created a monster!” Hell no, they count all the money they are making- and that’s what a business does.

No one’s here is saying they are surprised by the attraction.
What we don’t want is them representing MMA as a whole.
and we get annoyed by the media constantly depicting MMA as a violent bloodsport and going as far to pick one isolated incident of a white supremicist doing mediocrely in professional MMA to godwin MMA.
Mixed Martial arts is the SPORT.
UFC and organizations are about the money.
If all commercial MMA organizations crashed and burned. People who loved the sport would still be fighting for fun with the ruleset.
Growing the sport requires that the image of the sport not be fucked up.
Growing the sport isn’t the same as making money off of the sport at the expense of growth.
Learn to delineate.
I think that MMA has grown so big now that skinheads and other groups can’t really do much to ruin the reputation of the sport.
I was thinking more like this: All the skinheads and neo-nazis around here talk alot, but they usually don’t dare to do anything since they simply aren’t that used to violence. They are full of hate but it usually stops at that.
The ones that train in contact sports seem different. People can be total assholes, but not dare to do anything. When you get used to hurting people in training, and don’t have morals that hold you back you can become a danger to society.
What angers me is not the skinhead issue itself. It’s that so many seem to be willing to train people that show such obvious warning signs. Sure any idiot can make just as much damage as a good fighter, but there is the mental aspect aswell.

Bottom line is, surely that some fighters are going to loose in the ring some are going to win.
Of these fighters, surely some will be white, some black… Hispanic… Asian…Japanese… etc… etc… etc…
Many people will still appreciate a good win and bemoan bad wins… strange decisions by the Ref… it’s all part of the game.
These days more so than ever, the thoughts of a bunch of easily led and small-minded don’t even really deserve anything other than getting mocked and laughed at for their total lack of understanding about race and how irrelevant it truly is…
