I found two that i really like. They are within 100 bucks price of eachother. One is a higher quality 1 carat and the other is a lesser quality 1.25 carat.

Engagement and wedding rings aren’t fortunately a huge deal over here, we both have just plain, simple golden bands. Thus I’m free to paste this gem:

Indeed. My wife insisted on second hand diamonds (or at the very least, “Conflict Free” ones from Canada) for just that reason.
Drop down to 3/4 caret or a little less and get a near flawless stone with brilliant cut set in a simple band.
If she’s disappointed in it, you don’t want her.
I went with a white gold setting, pink sapphire set off with a smaller diamond on each side.
Don’t just go with the standard yellow gold and diamond biggest you can find is best.
Get something with character that you know she would like wearing.

Her dad loves me. We get along great.

I have a cousin who is a diamond merchant…
My recommendation is to go with a smaller stone surrounded by very small stones - if she likes the “antique” look of course. You don’t have that large rock getting in the way of things like putting hands in pockets like you do with a traditional solitaire setting, and it sparkles WAY more in general. My wife still gets regular compliments when she wears hers, just because it is so eye-catching with all of the extra sparkle.
