Moti Horenstein is the real deal. I have trained under him for five years. He owns only two schools–one in West Nyack, NY and the other in North Miami. I have been to two of his professional fights in NYC. One of his opponents quit in the second round. Not even tap out! The guy was simply out-classed. The other fight Hanshi Moti knocked him out in the second round. It was not a TKO; it was a full-on knock out. Again, his opponent was simply outclassed.
Resently Hanshi Moti Horenstein achieved the rank of Grand Master (Hanshi). His fight record is not bullshit, nor are his achievements. One of his most whimsical achievements is having broken the Guinness Book of Word Records for the most baseball bats broken with his shins. He broke 39 bats in one minute. No shit! There is a great video of it on his website.
Haters just hate. If you think you are man enough to set him straight, I suggest you come to our location in West Nyack. He will be there for Black Belt Circle Power Week (May 5 - May 11.) A few of his students are testing for their belts.
I will be there the entire week. My name is James M. Weil, 1st Degree Black Belt - American Kenpo; Upper Green Belt - Israeli Survival.

Sherdog lists him as having 1 win and 6 losses. I remember watching his fight against Mark Kerr. What about the 2 wins that you mentioned? Who did he fight? Also, isn’t MMA illegal in NYC?
What are you getting riled up about? Read the necroed thread and saw general defense of his abilities, and a “it’s his business” attitude about his school.
Doesn’t look like those guys drank their haterade! You sound like the guy who looks around a bar and randomly asks someone who they are looking at.
I might be missing something here, but I did a bit of a search in the Guinness World record site, and I didn’t find anything on Mr. Horenstein.
I saw the video you linked DK, (I’ve never tried kicking a bat, these are baseball bats right? and have no idea how hard they would be to break, though I imagine it would be quite difficult) and I started thinking about the logistics of such a feat.
You have drawn attention to your own sensei’s presence in the video, and I’m gathering that this counts as some sort of authenticity to the claim.
It’s not that I particularly doubt the claim, rather that I was disappointed such an accomplishment would not be listed on their website.
(I note that I was unable to find any records for bat breaking of any type)
It just sounded like this is a pretty wild accomplishment, and I’m to assume that he has one of the most potent leg kicks in the world?
I wondered if you could shed a little light on the subject.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s more of a gimmick than anything else. Breaking the bat down where the neck is skinny is more of a parlor trick than anything, I suspect:
Note that it’s my ex-sensei. Also note that I’m not claiming it was a world record attempt, just passing the hype along for consideration. I have seen the bat, touched it, but I was not in attendance at the above performance, so I cannot vouch for if that was one of the bats actually broken or not.

It could be a real record. It seems the current record (54) was set a year after this vid:
I am the real deal, I have the largest collection of belly button fluff in the world, because a lot of it is biological and organic waste (dead skin, etc), it stinks and my neighbours hate it because I leave it next to their bedroom window but it is a great substitute for a yoga ball except I am not liked in my yoga classes and they told me the class closed down after a while, except I go past there and there is always people doing yoga but they say it is a private lesson even though there’s like, 30 people there, but whatever, I don’t care, I use it to keep my back straight at work which had the added benefit of being given my own office and nobody hassles me in person but everyone sends me emails and calls me on the phone which makes me heaps busy but that’s okay because like in The Great Escape, my world record belly button fluff is good to bounce off walls so I kick it against the office walls to pass the time while I am on hold and then when I go home I have to be careful I don’t get mugged for it because it is a pretty prestigious title World Record holder and I don’t want some idiot stealing from me and claiming it.
Also, does anyone know how to get in touch with the Guiness World Records cause I want to make it official someday?
I have an awesome vhs tape somewhere of a guy trying to break a bat, and failing, about 15 times.
Best part is how he tries his left(non-dominant) leg afterwards, just in case that one is somehow stronger.
That and the sounds of his shins on wood, the steadily weakening kicks, bouncing off of the bat; that was nice too.

There are a few board breaking fails. All of them are epic in their own way.
My favourite board (well 2 by 2) fail was a SBD demo in Belgium, the 2 by 2 was about 8 feet long and the Master wanted to break it over his head (physics kinda gives you a hand on this)
the guy hitting him (actually there where 3, 1 for each arm and this guy in the middle for the head) had the wood twisted slightly so the corner hit 1st, he was also off centre coming down just above the temple, several hits and a trickle of blood later, they walked off (hey, 2 out of 3 aint bad!)
My old coach did a trick at demo. He would palm strike a long nail through a piece of wood(2 inch I think) to show off hand toughness. It could have or could not have been the real deal? Anyone else seen something similar or know what he did?
I was on a TKD demo team for st.jude in my teen until tkd became too deadly for me I will post pics and vids of my fails and others. I know I did one my coach had me do in a mall where I did a flying sidekick over 4 people bent over breaking two boards with two holders. I did this three times that day total. The last time I shit you not was the time I fucked up because the coach insisted that I slap a girls ass as a bluff before I jumped. It fucked me up because the slap was unsuccessful, it would have been different if the girl was actually hot and not some older woman. When I jumped I didn’t turn my body into a side kick position and did a thrust kick instead, the whole incident caused me to lose focus but I still attempted to break the board anyways. On landing the board holders lost focus and put less resistance holding, both causing the board not to break and sent the two board holders flying off a 7 foot drop. I did it a second attempt and I broke the board but with out slapping that womans ass. My coach was even like “you screwed that up, now I have to do something again”. Let me add if haven’t already, in front of a mall full of people(and a few friends that I don’t account for).
If you guys don’t believe me on being able to jump, let’s play a game of basketball and watch me dunk on you. I played in highschool and college for a season, or I could post a vid of the massive fail.
