The Modern Age - Revisited

I’m opening this thread, in continuation with the previous thread. Why? Because I’m a masochist (hence the tag in my wishlist), and to hash out some things that need explaining.

This is going to continue from this post about kink.

Ok. Kink does not have to involve sexual intent. It doesn’t even have to involve the notion of sex in any way shape or form. Kink does involve power play…in every sense of the term. Yes, what fetishists do is with the consent of their partner.

Kink does not always have to involve anything sexual. People are driven by other needs and desires. Such as the desire to feel wanted, cared for, loved, and cherished. Also included in that list of desires, is the desire to feel pain or inflict it upon others. A desire to control other people or even be controlled. Sex doesn’t have to be a part of any of it.

Power play, on the other had, is an essential part of the kinky lifestyle. Even if you’re just “topping” or “bottoming” for another person, there is a power dynamic in play. Daddy-little girl, pet-groomer/handler/Owner, submissive/slave-Master/Mistress/etc. Power play doesn’t always denote a struggle, but the transference of power from one individual (group) to another and everything in between. Grappling (rough play) is just a more obvious version of it since it’s visible.

Fetishists live (for the most part) by the philosophy of Safe, Sane, and Consensual.

I would disagree with that, unless we are separating kink from straight fetish. Fetish, in my experience, does not have to involve power play at all. Alot of it does, but you can’t tell me a foot-fetishist getting a footjob really has any power play in it. Same with breast fetishes, though that can lead to power play if there is a mom/child aspect to it. My point is that all a fetish is, in the sexual sense, is a fixation that causes arousal. Just because some (most) involve power play does not mean they have to. Again, in my tangential experience with the culture

Yes, a fetish is the fixation itself. Rubber is a fetish. Latex is a fetish. Etc. I was stating about kink and kink-lifestyle. (This is my opinion by the way) I would illustrate it as a smaller circle inside of a bigger circle.

In my experience, a person who has a foot fetish isn’t just getting a footjob. If he’s “only getting a footjob,” it’s just someone who likes getting jerked off with feet…nothing more. But someone who engages in the actual foot worship that most people within that fetish (again, fetish being the fixation) also engage in that power dynamic.

Ok, that was what I was confused on. But 4 in the morning is way too late for me to be talking about kink and fetish with another dude, no matter how charming he may be on the internet :besos:

LoL. It’s not that late yet, is it?

it was 4am in ohio chief

Fetish.

Jeremy why do you post this after I come back from a one nighter with a kinky theater major?

Why not? How is that going by the way?
