It is going to be nearly impossible to convince people based on an argument.

I hesitate to use an analogy because they get all the focus of the post, but here goes:

On the planet tradition everybody evolved with 8 fingers, while on the planet mixed everybody has 12 fingers. These two planets are trying to communicate so they can both launch rockets to meet halfway and have their ambassadors meet. Their computers are programmed by math with different bases. The rockets miss despite the best intentions of their surgeons. It doesn’t work, and both sides get frustrated.

I have two suggestions

1. There’s a saying “vids or it didn’t happen.” I have only one true friend in the world and his name is Internet. He has everything. On a long enough timeline, everything gets caught on vid and posted somewhere. Find video of traditional practices working effectively on somebody from a non-traditional school. No Akido uke shaking, no Hatsumi on booj initiates. You need chi blasts incapacitating a native Thai fighter (one of those 20 year old post-kickers with a 5 year pro record).

2. Please don’t go away, you give this site a reason to exist. If you didn’t bring these arguments an admin would have to create a sock puppet and pretend to really believe this way. No because I assumed that anyone with an interest in science and something physical like martial arts would have a basic understand of physics.

Newtons laws of motion:

You have presented yourself as a “person taking science” in school I believe. Colleges have standards for writing. Your writing does not seem to adhere to those standards.

Although it hurt at first, and it still does hurt from time to time, I can now basically listen to any kind of hate and it’s effect is diminished.

It is not pointless. To the intelligent person, knowing that a fighting system is based on a scientific theory that obeys the laws of physics can be more interesting and demands more respect, than training a fighting style that is just a mish mash of methods slapped together by someone who has no understanding why the methods work.

As opposed to a martial that breaks the laws of physics. Maybe it’s just me but one that doesnt obey the laws of physics seems more interesting. Where can I learn one like that? :bduh:
