I think the reasons for which Chuck was ousted and for which MTripp left ultimately had very little to do with the verification of Chuck’s judo claims.

The question I am asking is if it’s even relevant at this point if Chuck made up his meager judo background or not. I really think it isn’t, and that we should leave this matter alone.

Sorry, but do you remember all the people you have trained with?

I left my last dojo a month ago, after training there eights months straight, going out to drink with some of my pals there quite regularly, and on and on, and I couldn’t remember half of their names without Facebook any more.
When I think back to my prior dojo experiences, I usually remember them fondly as “the hot chick”, or “the fat dude”.
So, that argument would not be valid on my list.

  • I am pretty convinced that he lied about his entire MA background, but I think it’s pretty irrelevant if to prove it at this point.

The reason I am annoyed with Chuck is that I disliked the way he treated others, if at all, THIS should be discussed again.

But, hell, did he have beginner judo training yes or no? I don’t give a flying fuck.

I have two other people who also remember training in Judo with Chuck, but nothing about the tournaments. So yeah, there are witnesses who can back up that Chuck did train with Bill Kitz. Did he train T3H Real Judo? No one will ever know because no one can find Bill Kitz to ask him WTF he was teaching. But bullshit like all of the fuckery from Dsimon in this thread is just pissing me off.

To make him like you? To get bragging rights? To have something over him?
Personally, I did it because he needed the help and it was the right thing to do.
What he does with it from here on out is on him and defines him, not you.
Know that you did a solid in the dojo and move on.

You helped Omega certify a guy who, if the story is correct, lost his certification in a housefire.
If you like Omega, then view it as you did Omega a solid and be done with it. The guy was, according to Omega’s grading, a verifiable Shodan in Judo. If this is correct, he earned his grading and deserved it.
If this is the harshest experience you had in the duplicity of human nature, you have lived a blessed and sheltered life.

No, it was for his certification through USJF*…whichever org he was registered with.

They require fees for his certification and a member asked for help and some members offered it and Omega offered to review his abilities and had a nice seminar at his, Omega’s, school.

It wasn’t a big deal, really and I would hope the community would do the same again.
