Punch, kick, punch… dislocated shoulder? hmm i think we did not get a complete play by play description here… dislocated shoulder implies that grappling may have been involved… it may even have been AIKIDO… wish we had more info on this…

A friend from NS tells me the girl in question trains at a jiu jitsu school, haven’t found out the club name yet.

Aikido? thats how rumoours of it’s street effectiveness get started

Unforunately she triumphed without the aid of the one true form of Jiu Jitsu.

What’s worse, her teacher believes in pressure points, and she seems to believe she dislocated a man’s arm with a punch.

This is her school. It seems she got astonishingly lucky. Or just beat up two inoffensive black guys.

Hey cjmurph ,

We really really appreciate ( demand ) that when you link to an article you include and excert from the page and some of your own thoughts about the topic .

So … in other words …

STFU and read the STICKIES at the top of each section/subsection before you post anymore .

Thank you have a nice day .

Thanks for the links. I was hoping it wasn’t those guys. Their headmaster(deceased) was from this area, comes complete with the “adopted son of Oriental master who passed on family tradition” story.

yep i tried to find some info and must admit it is bullshido… more commercial crap to fool unsuspecting students… just visiting thier site made my eyes hurt… she should find a good aikido school…

I’m not sure why this was Trollshidoed. OK, we all read it and we all rolled our eyes and said “Yeah right”, but it’s an indication of the way the media plays up or plays down martial arts depending on whether the good guys or the bad guys won. If a ‘bad guy’ goes and beats someone up, and happened to do a bit of TKD, he is suddenly a cruel and vicious beast who hunted down a violent martial art to indulge in his desires, but it just wasn’t enough.

Should the good guy win, especially teenage girls - what newspaper doesn’t love a good teenie girl victory? - who happens to do a bit of karate or some other art that involves prancing about on a mat, suddenly she defeated the bad guys with leet moves like some Hollywood movie.

“She thinks” she dislocated his shoulder or elbow with a punch. Well it’s a bit bloody obvious she didn’t. A wrench, a lock, a grapple, yes, but a punch, christ no. And until this guy steps up with his injuries, I’m gonna take this with the truckload of salt it deserves. A couple of punches to a couple of kids and she legged it. Good for her, but the only way martial arts may have helped is it gave her the confidence to do it.

'Tis against forum policy to post links without some discussion, explanation or comment.

well he did preface it with read this… too bad this MA turned out to be bullshido… it would have been cool to see some real shit…

The ‘READ THIS’ is part of the Trollshido template thingy. He didn’t even put a full stop.

Yes, the "The girl told police she may have dislocated the second man’s shoulder or elbow. " part was hysterical.

You could tell she studided real jiu jutsu because she took on multiple opponents. When people talk about Jiu jutsu I keep thinking is it Jiu jutsu the ancestor of Judo or BJJ.
